Bui Van Trung (centre), head of Dung
hamlet in Gia Mo commune (Tan Lac district), has taken the lead in donating
land and encouraged others to donate over 7,600 sq.m. of land to serve the
expansion of rural roads.
On the occasion of the Party’s 39thfounding anniversary, then President Ho Chi Minh wrote an article titled
"Promoting revolutionary ethics, eliminating individualism” published on Issue 5409
of the Nhan dan (People) newspaper on February 3, 1969. More than half a
century later, his teachings in the writing remain relevant to the Party
building and rectification nowadays. Opening his work, he called on cadres and
Party members to take the lead in setting good examples to deserve their
leadership roles as well as the people’s trust and support – "Party members go
first, the people follow”. Implementing his instructions, local cadres and
Party members have always set bright examples right in their hamlets and
villages.
Gia Mo is a remote commune of Tan Lac district.
More than a decade ago, it faced numerous difficulties while essential
infrastructure, especially transport facilities, was underdeveloped. However,
the locality has gained a facelift thanks to exemplary cadres and Party members
who have pioneered in contributing to common benefits.
Among them, Bui Van Hung, former Secretary of the Gia Mo communal Party
Committee, donated 760 sq.m. of garden land to the construction of a
kindergarten in Dung hamlet, helping local children go to school. In
particular, the ripple effect of his deed can still be seen today as Dung
hamlet is still a bright spot in the donation of land to the new-style
countryside building, with cadres and Party members taking the lead.
Bui Van Trung, Deputy Secretary of the Party
cell and head of Dung hamlet, said that in the past, his hamlet struggled with
all-round difficulties, with high rates of poor and near-poor households and
underdeveloped transport infrastructure. Now, thanks to the State’s attention
and investment, along with people’s support, roads have been upgraded. To have
such a large road, locals donated more than 7,600 sq.m. of land and a vast area
of trees. Trung’s family also donated over 200 sq.m. to building intra-field
roads.
Preoccupied by how to tap into the soil
potential to improve people’s income, Trung gathered vegetable farmers in the
hamlet to establish a vegetable production group with 18 members. They have
assisted one another in acquiring cultivation techniques and seeking buyers,
thus generating high economic benefits. It could be said that Trung’s example
has become a source of inspiration for other cadres, Party members, and
residents in Dung hamlet, helping give a facelift to this rural area and better
the quality of people’s life.
Thanks to his considerable contributions to the
locality, Trung was one of the eight exemplars granted certificates of merit by
the Chairperson of the Hoa Binh provincial People’s Committee for remarkable
achievements in studying and following Ho Chi Minh’s ideology, moral example,
and style in the 2021 - 2030 period.
President Ho Chi Minh attached great importance
to leading by example. Therefore, over the past years, Hoa Binh province has
paid special attention to the commendation and popularisation of role models
and effective methods, thus inspiring and promoting creativity, reform,
self-reliance, and national pride in the community so that each individual is
an example of thinking big and acting bold in the new era – that of the
nation’s rise.
During 2021 - 2024, 1,597
collectives and individuals in the province have received rewards and
commendation by all-level Party committees and administrations on the occasion
of reviewing the one-, two-, and three-year implementation of Conclusion 01-KL/TW.
Among them, two collectives and four individuals were granted certificates of
merit by the Prime Minister, three collectives and six individuals received the
honour by the Chairperson of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for
Information and Education, and 30 collectives and 33 individuals were commended
by the Chairperson of the provincial People’s Committee.
