Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong met on July 12 in Hanoi Ambassadors and Heads of Vietnam’s foreign representative offices who begin their term from now until 2020.

The Party leader asked the diplomats to uphold the Party guidelines and provide the Party with relevant research and consultancy as they gain fast access to world political, economic, scientific-technological and market information.

He called on the diplomats to protect Vietnamese citizens well, connect overseas Vietnamese with their homeland, and promote Vietnam’s images to foreign friends.

The diplomats, in turn promised to make every effort to fulfill their assigned tasks and speed up the implementation of cooperation agreements Vietnam signed, thereby boosting friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and other countries and partners.

They pledged to make outstanding performance in protecting overseas Vietnamese, national sovereignty and the country’s interests while contributing to peace, solidarity, cooperation and development in the region and the wider world.
