It has also paid attention to economic restructuring and applied multiple models to tap its potential to boost development.

He said in the time ahead, the province needs to keep close coordination with ministries and central agencies to overhaul and update the plans for each sector. It should associate its development plans with the overall development of the Capital City Region, press on with economic restructuring, and optimise potential to create new development driving forces. Particularly, the province should capitalise on its potential for industry, agriculture and services so as to make master plans for the short, medium and long terms.

It is necessary to adapt the planning of residential areas to the natural disaster prevention and climate change response programme while keeping attention to the settlement of disaster aftermath, the construction of resettlement areas, and ensuring long-term livelihoods for locals. Hoa Binh also needs to step up the response to the severe cold to ensure agricultural activities.
