Bac Ninh is now home to more than 124,000 national revolutionary contributors, including nearly 16,500 war martyrs, and more than 1,400 Vietnamese heroic mothers.

On the occasion, Vice President Thinh bestowed the ‘Hero of People’s Armed Forces’ title to war martyr Nguyen Dinh Xo, who laid down his life in 1969, during the national resistance war against the US.

The same day, Politburo member and Secretary of Hanoi municipal Party’s Committee, Hoang Trung Hai visited families of Vietnamese heroic mother Nguyen Thi Khoa and wounded solider Vu Thai Duong in Hoan Kiem district.

During the visits, the Hanoi Party leader applauded the service of mother Khoa and soldier Duong to the struggle for national liberation and reunification, as well as the country’s construction and development.

On the occasion of the upcoming Vietnamese Day for Wounded and Fallen Soldiers (July 27), Thai Binh provincial authorities have presented 95,000 gifts worth VND 38 billion to families of policy beneficiaries and national contributors in the province.

Delegations of leaders of Quang Tri, Dak Lak and Ha Tinh provinces also took the occasion to pay homage to fallen soldiers at local cemeteries.
