(HBO) – Secretary of the Party Committee of Hoa Binh province Bui Van Tinh visited and presented gifts to two Vietnamese Heroic Mothers – Bui Thi Rao (born in 1925 in Cuoi Ha commune) and Bui Thi Bay (born in 1921 in Ha Bi commune) of Kim Boi district.

Vietnamese Heroic Mother Bui Thi Rao has
two sons – Bui Duc Tho and Bui Van Thao who fell down during the war. Six
children of Vietnamese Heroic Mother Bui Thi Bay were martyrs, two of them died
during the war against the US – Bui Van Not, joining the army in 1966 and died
in 1969, and Bui Van Cat, joining the army in 1968 and fell down in 1971.
Over the past years, local departments and
agencies have paid much attention to the caring of Vietnamese Heroic Mothers in
both material and spiritual life. The mothers enjoy support policies from the
State and the life-long care by agencies.
Kim Boi district is home to 19 Vietnamese
Heroic Mothers, but only Rao and Bay are still alive.
Visiting the mothers, Secretary of the
provincial Party Committee of Bui Van Tinh expressed great gratitude towards
the sacrifice by the mothers to national independence and freedom. The mothers
are now old and in poor health conditions, so the provincial leader asked
departments, sectors and socio-political organisations to pay greater attention
to the mothers and coordinate with their families to care for the mothers’
health.
After three years of implementing the Politburo’s Conclusion No. 01-KL/TW on continuing performing Directive 05-CT/TW on enhancing the learning and studying of President Ho Chi Minh’s thought, moral example and lifestyle, Lac Thuy district of Hoa Binh province has discovered many effective models and practices, creating a spillover effect in the local community, helping to develop a clean and strong Party Organisation meeting the requirements in the new situation.
The Hoa Binh Elderly Association and the provincial Department of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs on May 7 held a working session with a visiting delegation from the Japanese Embassy and sponsors of a local project on reducing senior citizens’ income and health vulnerabilities in Vietnam (VIE071).

Officials of Hoa Binh province led by Bui Van Khanh, Vice Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee, along with others from the provinces also taking part in a programme on promoting Vietnamese localities in the US and Canada, visited and had a working session with the Consulate General of Vietnam in Houston on April 24 (local time). The delegation was welcomed by Hoang Thuy Duong, Consul General of Vietnam in the city, and staff members of the consulate.
