(HBO) - On July 31, a Government delegation led by Deputy Prime Minister Trinh Dinh Dung made a fact-finding trip to the northern mountainous province of Hoa Binh, and had a working session with the province’s representatives on landslides in lowland areas of Da River triggered by torrential rains, and the operation of the Hoa Binh hydropower plant. Nguyen Van Quang, Vice Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee; and Nguyen Van Dung, Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee attended the meeting.

situation in the province to Deputy PM Dung.

The provincial People’s Committee has
instructed local authorities to swiftly evacuate four households in May Giay
hamlet, Dan Ha commune, Ky Son district; and 35 others in residential area No.
26 in Dong Tien ward to safe places. Another three households in May Giay are being evacuated. The localities
were also asked to regularly send personnel to monitor the situation, and ban
people from travelling around the landslide areas, while helping the evacuated
households soon stabilise their lives.
Speaking at the working session, Deputy PM
Dung expressed sympathy to locals over their difficulties and losses.
He
said the weather is forecast to develop complicatedly in the next days, and
asked Hoa Binh to stay vigilant and to continue efforts to cope with unexpected
situations.
It is a must to ensure absolute safety for
local residents, check dangerous areas, and promptly move people out of the
areas prone to landslides, he stressed.
The official also requested Hoa Binh to work
out plans to protect the landslide areas and ban people from travelling around
these sites, ensuring that local people’s lives are stabilized and no
households face food shortage.
