(HBO) - Since the beginning of 2019, the People’s Committee of Ky Son district launched an emulation movement, and instructed departments and agencies to materialise the movement in tandem with political and socio-economic tasks.

Nguyen Tien Thuong, from Nha hamlet, Hop Thanh commune, Ky Son district, Hoa Binh province, is a role model in production development, contributing to local new-style rural area building programme.

The implementation of Party resolutions has been integrated with the realisation of Directive No. 05-CT/TW on the enhancement of studying and following late President Ho Chi Minh’s thought, morality and lifestyle.

Patriotic emulation movements have attracted the widespread participation of local officials and people. Such movements focused on new-style rural area building, the transformation of plant cultivation and animal breeding structure, scientific-technological application in production and administrative reform, among others.

Thanks to such drives, Ky Son district accomplished 14 out of 15 set targets in 2019. The local agro-forestry-fishery sector grew 4 percent; industry-construction, up 16.6 percent; and services, up 14.8 percent.

The agro-forestry-fishery sector made up 22.85 percent of the local economy. Meanwhile, industry and construction accounted for 40.9 percent; and services, 36.25 percent.

The district’s total budget collection was 57.5 billion VND and average per capita income reached 57 million VND.

Eight communes in Ky Son have been recognised as new-style rural areas ahead of schedule, and 15 out of 22 schools in the locality have won natural status. The district’s poverty rate dropped to 4.42 percent, completing 133.4 percent of the target assigned by the local People’s Council.

Besides, Ky Son has made outstanding performance in land clearance, administrative reform, Party building, and ensuring political security and social order and safety./.
