(HBO) – Yen Thuy district of Hoa Binh province has 29 units of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (HCYU) with 3,569 members. In recent years, the district has paid attention to educating local HCYU members and young people on revolutionary traditions.
HCYU members and young people in Yen Thuy district have
actively engaged in voluntary activities over the past years.
Over the past years, the teaching of traditions
to local students, HCYU members and young people has been improved in terms of
both quantity and quality. Teaching methods have been diversified and
associated with important anniversaries of the country such as the Party’s
founding anniversary (February 3), the South Liberation and National
Reunification Day (April 30), President Ho Chi Minh’s birthday (May 19), and
the National Day (September 2).
Yen Thuy district considers educating younger
generations on revolutionary traditions as one of the focal and regular tasks
of HCYU chapters. Therefore, local HCYU units have paid special attention to
this work.
Truong Duc Huy, Vice Secretary of the Yen Thuy
HCYU Committee, said the work has been being carried out through concrete,
practical and diverse activities such as history knowledge contests,
discussions, forums and celebrations on the occasion of big anniversaries of
the countries, the province and the HCYU, thereby helping the youth gain an
insight into the historical significance of events.
Besides, they have also held activities to pay
tribute to martyrs like caring for martyrs’ cemeteries, visiting and presenting
gifts to revolution contributors’ families, and organising meetings between the
youth and witnesses to study history and trips to historical relic sites, he
added.
With unanimity in awareness and actions, the
local youths have enthusiastically taken part in campaigns of the HCYU. In
2019, local HCYU units presented hundreds of gift packages to policy
beneficiary families, poor households, and underprivileged students with good
academic results. They have also built and repaired tens of kilometres of
roads, built one house for a disadvantaged family, and provided free health
check-ups and medicine for hundreds of local residents. All the activities were
carried out at a total cost of nearly 400 million VND (17,300 USD)./.
