(HBO) - On March 23, the Standing Board of the provincial Fatherland Front Committee received funds worth 65 million VND (2,743 USD) from individuals and collectives of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha’s chapter in Hoa Binh province (VBS Hoa Binh) to curb the spread of the novel coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 that causes the acute respiratory disease (COVID-19).

Most Venerable Thich Duc Nguyen, head of the Executive Board of VBS Hoa Binh, domated 30 million VND; Most Venerable Thich Tri Thinh, deputy head of the Executive Board of VBS Hoa Binh and head of the Executive Board of its chapter in Lac Thuy district 10 million VND; Most Venerable Thich Tri Thien, deputy head of the Executive Board of VBS Hoa Binh and head of the Executive Board of its chapter in Tan Lac district 10 million VND. Buddhist followers from Hoa Binh city supported 15 million VND in cash.

On behalf of the Standing Board of the provincial Fatherland Front Committee, head of the mass mobilisation department, Chairwoman of the provincial Fatherland Front Committee Nguyen Thi Oanh, thanked individuas and collectives from VBS Hoa Binh for supporting the province in the fight against COVID-19. She pledged to transfer the funds to those who are directly involved in the combat./.
