(HBO) - The Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Central Committee organised a national videoconference meeting to carry out and supervise the implementation of policies in support of people affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Hoa Binh delegates attend videoconference meeting.

Delegates heard leading officials of the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs and the VFF Central Committee guiding the implementation of the Government’s Resolution No.42/NQ-CP dated April 9, 2020 on measures to support people affected by the COVID-19, and the Prime Minister’s Decision No.15/2020/QD-TTg dated April 24, 2020 stipulating the implementation of support policies and the supervision over the implementation. A representative from the Vietnam Post provided guidance on applying information technology in serving payments.

Addressing the event, President of the VFF Central Committee Tran Thanh Man affirmed that Resolution No.42 is an unprecedented big social welfare policy which covers a large number of beneficiaries and serves as a lifebuoy for those affected by the pandemic.

He asked for supporting affected people promptly and accurately. He requested the VFF at all levels to coordinate with the labour, invalids and social affairs sector in making lists of beneficiaries so as to avoid missing any beneficiaries and prevent any actions that take advantage of the funding.

It is necessary to make public the list of beneficiaries as well as their allowances, and the phone numbers and email addresses of VFF officials from the central to grassroots levels so that people can directly make petitions, Man stated.

He also required clarifying the responsibility of the Party Committees, local authorities, the VFF and its chapters, and the labour, invalids and social affairs sector, and making clear the dates of beginning and finishing the support programme.

Minister of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs Dao Ngoc Dung stressed the need to carry out the programme as soon as possible.

Local authorities should ensure the openness and transparency and take responsibility in front of the Government, the local Party Committees and People’s Councils. He encouraged the payment via banks and the implementation of procedures via the online public services portal. The ministry will promptly answer questions of localities, he added./.
