(HBO) - On May 21, a working delegation headed by Bui Van Tinh, member of the Party Central Committee and Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, met with the standing board of Lac Son commune’s Party Committee at the communal house of Vo Do hamlet in Lac Son’s Nhan Nghia commune, on the local annual tradition of organizing the Independence Day festivals.
On
behalf of the delegation, Bui Van Tinh, member of the Party Central Committee and
Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, presents gifts to authorities and
people in Vo Do hamlet.
The annual tradition of
organizing the Independence Day festival on the occasion of the August
Revolution (August 19) and National Day (September 2) dates back for a long
time. On September 2 in 1945, joining people nationwide to enter a new era of
independence and freedom and celebrating the success of the local revolutionary
uprising, the administration and people in Lac Son held their first Independence
Day festival. Since then, the festival has spread and become a local tradition in
the district.
Based on the meaningful
values of the festival, the standing board of the Lac Son Party Committee
proposed that the standing board of the provincial Party Committee include the
tradition in Hoa Binh’s tradition preservation programme in line with the
provincial orientation of "Each district has a unique activity and
tradition”.
Concluding the meeting,
Tinh took note of the proposal and affirmed that the standing board of the
provincial Party Committee encourages localities to converse and promote their
traditional cultural values as a firm foundation for the development of the
entire province.
He affirmed that Lac
Son’s Independence Day festival tradition ought to be preserved and promoted to
attract tourists and spread to neighbouring areas.
To do so, the official
advised Lac Son authorities to effectively enhance its coordination with
related departments, sectors, and organisations to seek way to turn the
festival into a special and unique cultural and tourism product.
Tinh presented gifts to
authorities and people in Vo Do hamlet.
After three years of implementing the Politburo’s Conclusion No. 01-KL/TW on continuing performing Directive 05-CT/TW on enhancing the learning and studying of President Ho Chi Minh’s thought, moral example and lifestyle, Lac Thuy district of Hoa Binh province has discovered many effective models and practices, creating a spillover effect in the local community, helping to develop a clean and strong Party Organisation meeting the requirements in the new situation.
The Hoa Binh Elderly Association and the provincial Department of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs on May 7 held a working session with a visiting delegation from the Japanese Embassy and sponsors of a local project on reducing senior citizens’ income and health vulnerabilities in Vietnam (VIE071).

Officials of Hoa Binh province led by Bui Van Khanh, Vice Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee, along with others from the provinces also taking part in a programme on promoting Vietnamese localities in the US and Canada, visited and had a working session with the Consulate General of Vietnam in Houston on April 24 (local time). The delegation was welcomed by Hoang Thuy Duong, Consul General of Vietnam in the city, and staff members of the consulate.
Officials of Hoa Binh province joining in a programme on promoting Vietnamese localities in the US and Canada began working sessions in New York on April 22. Other provinces participating in this programme, held by the Department for Local Diplomacy Facilitation under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, include Yen Bai, Ha Nam, Ha Tinh, Thua Thien - Hue, and Gia Lai.
