(HBO) – The 25th Party Congress of Lac Thuy district for the 2020-2025 tenure took place successfully from June 2 to 4 in the spirit of democracy, discipline and responsibility. The district’s Party organisation was chosen by the Hoa Binh provincial Party Committee to organise a model Party congress at the grassroots level.

The congress elected 37 people to the 25th Party Committee of the district.

In their first meeting, the 25th Party Committee elected its Standing Board, which comprises of 11 members, along with its Secretary, Vice Secretary, inspection commission, and head of the inspection commission.

Bui Van Truong, Standing Vice Secretary of the last tenure’s Party Committee of Lac Thuy and Chairman of the district’s People’s Council, was elected Secretary of the new Party Committee, while head of the organisation board of the last-tenure’s Party Committee Pham Van Duc now Standing Vice Secretary in the new tenure, and Vice Secretary of the last tenure’s Party Committee and Chairman of the district’s People’s Committee Nguyen Van Hai now Vice Secretary of the current Party Committee.

Besides, seven people were elected to the inspection commission of the 25th Party Committee.

The Party Congress of Lac Thuy also selected 22 to represent the district’s Party organisation at the upcoming 17th provincial Party Congress.

At the event, participants gave opinions on draft documents to be submitted to higher-level congresses. They also approved nine action programmes for implementing the resolution of the district’s 25th Party Congress.

The Party Congress of Lac Thuy was held in line with the Politburo’s Directive 35-CT/TW and the provincial Party Committee’s guidance on the organisation of all-level Party congresses towards the 13th National Party Congress.

In the 2015-2020 term, Lac Thuy achieved and surpassed 17 of the 19 targets set in the resolution of the district’s 24th Party Congress. In particular, the local economy has maintained fair growth and been restructured in the right direction. Per capita income has reached 50 million VND (nearly 2,200 USD) annually.

The district’s Party Committee seriously reviewed shortcomings and weaknesses, analysed causes and learned lessons from them in the tenure. Basing on this, they devised focal, breakthrough and feasible solutions for the new tenure to realise set targets, including an average growth rate of 14.5 percent in production value, per capita income of 105 million VND, 200 billion VND collected for the State budget by 2025, and four communes meeting advanced new-style rural area standards.

Lac Thuy also expects that by 2025, it will be among the best district-level localities in Hoa Binh province, helping to successfully carry out the resolutions of the 17th provincial Party Congress and the 13th National Party Congress./.
