The host leader said the Government and people of Vietnam appreciate the support that the US Congress, including many members of the House of Representatives, has given to the US’s policy towards the Asian-Pacific region and the country’s development of the comprehensive partnership with Vietnam in all fields, especially in promoting the implementation of US businesses’ investment projects in Vietnam.

He affirmed that Vietnam always attaches importance to relations with the US and wants to continue reinforcing the comprehensive partnership in a result-oriented manner on the basis of respecting each other’s independence, sovereignty, territorial integrity and political regime, for the sake of the countries’ people as well as for peace, stability, cooperation and development in Asia-Pacific and the world.

PM Phuc lauded the increasingly positive and substantive development of Vietnam-US relations in bilateral, regional and global aspects.

He also valued growing ties between the two countries’ parliaments, particularly the meetings and exchanges of views between their lawmakers.

Vietnam welcomes more US parliamentarians to come to learn about its history, culture, country and people as well as to seek measures to foster bilateral linkages.

For his part, Ted Yoho said he is happy to meet PM Phuc again after his phone talks with the Vietnamese leader last May.

He said as Chairman of the Asia and the Pacific Subcommittee at the US House Committee on Foreign Affairs, he will work harder to enhance cultural and trade cooperation and legislative experience sharing, thus helping the flourishing comprehensive partnership to continue obtaining new achievements in all spheres.
