(HBO) – On the occasion of the Independence Festival, leaders of Hoa Binh province on September 2 visited and extended greetings to residents in Tan My commune and Vu Ban township of Lac Son district, along with Thinh Lang ward of Hoa Binh city.

They included Bui Van Tinh, member of the Party Central Committee and Secretary of the Hoa Binh provincial Party Committee; Bui Duc Hinh, member of the Standing Board of the provincial Party Committee and Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee; Nguyen Thi Oanh, member of the Standing Board of the provincial Party Committee, head of the committee’s mass mobilisation board and President of the provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee; as well as officials from the provincial Party Committee’s board for information and education, the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and authorities of Lac Son district and Hoa Binh city.

The Independence Festival holds great significance as it marks the victory of the August Revolution and the foundation of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, now the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, in 1945. Over the last 75 years, joining people nationwide, people of different ethnic groups in Hoa Binh province have made unceasing efforts to obtain enormous achievements. The Independence Festival has become one of the major events of the whole country. Many localities in the province like Lac Son district, Tan Lac district and Hoa Binh city often organise celebrations of this festival and consider it a custom that needs to be treasured.

In the atmosphere of the Independence Festival to mark the National Day, the provincial leaders attended some celebratory activities of families who rendered service to the revolution in Tan My commune and visited outstanding families at the cultural centre on Nghia Dan street of Lac Son’s Vu Ban township. They also visited and presented gifts to families of revolution contributors and joined residents in Thinh Lang ward of Hoa Binh city in celebrations.

Talking to local residents, Bui Van Tinh, member of the Party Central Committee and Secretary of the Hoa Binh provincial Party Committee, affirmed that the Independence Festival holds tremendous values, is critical to educating people on the revolutionary tradition, and also reflects people’s trust in the Party.

He asked sectors and localities to continue communications to encourage the local populace to preserve and bring into play this festival’s values. He also wished people across the province good health so as to help with national development and safeguarding./.
