(HBO) – The 16th People’s Council of Hoa Binh in the 2016-2021 tenure held its 17th meeting on November 11. The event drew Ngo Van Tuan, Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, and representatives from the central Party agencies.

The thematic session focused on the appointment of key officials of the provincial People’s Council after the 17th provincial Party Congress in the 2020-2025 tenure, and some other important contents.

With the determination to effectively implement targets set by the provincial People’s Council for 2020, the council will promote renovation and creativity to complete its tasks.

At the meeting, the council discussed and passed 15 resolutions, including nine on the personnel work, four on the approval and adjustment of investment policies for projects, and two on the principles, criteria and quota for the allocation of public investment sourced from the State budget in the 2021-2025 period, as well as the addition and detail allocation of middle-term public investment plan in the 2016-2020 period and in 2020, which is sourced from the provincial budget.

On the personnel work, Bui Duc Hinh, Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, was elected as the Chairman of the Hoa Binh People’s Council. Meanwhile, Nguyen Thi Cam Phuong, President of the provincial Farmers’ Union; and Vo Ngoc Kien, deputy head of the provincial Party Committee’s Organisation Commission were elected as vice chairpersons of the council.

At the same time, Nguyen Dong, head of the Party Committee’s Commission for Internal Affairs, was elected as head of the provincial People’s Council’s Law Committee; Bui Tien Luc, head of the provincial Party Committee’s Commission for Mass Mobilisation, as head of the provincial People’s Council’s Committee for Ethnic Affairs; Quach The Ngoc, head of the Party Committee’s Commission for Information and Education, as head of the People’s Council’s Committee for Socio-Cultural Affairs.

Meanwhile, Nguyen Quoc Toan, Chief Commander of the provincial Military High Command was also elected to the People’s Committee.

Addressing the meeting, Bui Duc Hinh, Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the People’s Council, said that the 17th meeting completed all contents. The People’s Council assigned the People’s Committee to direct sectors and localities to design plans to implement resolutions pulicised at the meeting.

He also asked members of the provincial People’s Council to continue promoting their role, updating voters on the outcomes of the meeting and noting their opinions and aspirations in a timely way. They should actively explore the reality in the locality and report problems to the People’s Council and People’s Committee and relevant agencies, thus efficiently realising the resolutions of the meeting, he added./.
