(HBO) - Secretary of the Hoa Binh Party Committee Ngo Van Tuan chaired a meeting of the executive board on November 11 to review the Party leadership over the implementation of tasks in 2020 and sketch out targets and missions for 2021, while giving opinions on a number of important issues related to the provincial socio-economic development.

At the meeting, participants agreed that in 2020, the Party Committee, administration and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee at all levels as well as socio-political organisations have exerted efforts to complete all political tasks with positive results.

In 2020, gross regional domestic product (GRDP) of the province is estimated to rise 3.59 percent, while the industrial production value is likely to reach 46.6 trillion VND, up 4.74 percent year on year.

Meanwhile, export revenue is estimated to top 1 billion USD, a rise of 31.72 percent over the same period last year, while agro-forestry-fisheries exports are estimated to reach 11.48 trillion VND, a year-on-year rise of 4.6 percent.

This year, Hoa Binh has four more communes completing the new-style rural areas, raising the total to 57. State budget collection is likely to reach 4.51 trillion VND, up 24 percent over the same period last year. At the same time, all socio-cultural tasks have been basically completed.

However, the COVID-19 pandemic has seriously affected the production and business activities in the province.

In 2021, the province aims to gain a GRDP growth of at least 9 percent, with per capita GRDP of 69.7 million VND, and total State budget collection of 5 trillion VND, along with 29 percent in the rate of urbanisation.

Participants agreed on the continuing of the implementation of the twin targets, while focusing on improving the investment and business environment and promoting growth.

The meeting also discussed a number of issues, including a proposal of the provincial People’s Committee’s Party delegation on the policies on cooperation between Hoa Binh and Russia’s Voronezh province, and another proposal on the issuance of a resolution approving the project to organise and support the militia force in the province in the 2021-2025 period, a proposal of the provincial Party Committee’s Inspection Commission, a draft report on the supervision and monitoring activities in 2020 and the orientations, tasks and solutions for 2021, among others.

Concluding the meeting, Ngo Van Tuan, Secretary of the provincial Party Committee reminded local departments and agencies not to be ignorant of COVID-19 pandemic, while implementing the twin targets of boosting socio-economic growth and preventing the pandemic at the same time. He asked the drafting units to continue gathering opinions to complete the report with high feasibility.

Later the same day, the board held a ceremony to present the Party insignia to three Party members. On behalf of the board, Tuan handed over the insignias to three former officials, expressing his hope that they will transmit their experience in Party and political system building to their successors.

Bui Van Tho, former head of the provincial Party Committee’s Organisation Commission, showed his honour to receive the insignia, pledging to continue maintaining and developing the morality of a Party member in daily life./.
