(HBO) – The Standing Board of the Hoa Binh provincial Party Committee recently had a teleconference with leaders of the FLC Group joint Stock Company to listen to the group and the consultancy’s report on ideas, problems, and proposals relevant to the Thung Nai resort, eco-city, sports, and entertainment complex project in Cao Phong and Tan Lac districts.
Ngo
Van Tuan, member of the Party Central Committee and Secretary of the provincial
Party Committee, chairs the meeting.
At the teleconference, departments, sectors, and
localities in Hoa Binh asked FLC to ensure project ideas match the province’s
overall planning and land use planning; pay attention to forest protection,
resettlement of people affected by the project, and livelihoods of displaced
residents; and pledge to assist local people in terms of site clearance.
Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee
Bui Van Khanh requested the group to quickly carry out the regulated procedures
for its projects in Hoa Binh, noting that the province is ready to help address
obstacles to the investor.
The Thung Nai resort, eco-city, sports, and
entertainment complex project must accord with the Prime Minister-approved
general plan on building the Hoa Binh Lake national tourism area, and include a
plan to resettle and support affected residents, he said, asking relevant
departments and sectors to make assessment, ensure projects in the area do not
overlap one another, and guarantee the projects’ compliance with laws.
Speaking at the event, Ngo Van Tuan, member of
the Party Central Committee and Secretary of the provincial Party Committee,
expressed his delight that the FLC Group has chosen Hoa Binh as its strategic
partner to make investments. He also supported the determination of the firm
and the provincial People’s Committee to implement projects early.
He asked FLC to swiftly carry out the projects
able to be implemented immediately and keep close contact with local
departments, sectors, and agencies to deal with problems arising.
The official said as local authorities play a
crucial role in site clearance for all projects, the district-level Party
committee and administration must take actions to assist investors.
Regarding the Thung Nai project, it must adhere
to the general plan on the Hoa Binh Lake national tourism area, as well as
environmental protection requirements, he noted, adding that authorities must
select capable investors that have good ideas and wish to make long-term
investments in Hoa Binh./.
