(HBO) – Over the past years, the implementation of the Politburo’s Directive No.05 on promoting studying and following Ho Chi Minh (Uncle Ho)'s thoughts, morality and lifestyle has been identified as an important task to build a pure and strong Party Committee by the Party Committee of Dong Tam commune (Lac Thuy). The implementation of the directive has spread and created changes in the awareness and actions of each official, Party member and local resident.

Studying and following President Ho Chi Minh, officials and Party members of Dai Dong village, Dong Tam commune (Lac Thuy) have always pioneered in mobilising locals to participate in building a new-style rural area.

In November 2015, Dong Tam commune met all new-style rural area building criteria. In order to become a commune that meets the province's advanced new-style rural standards in the 2018 – 2020 period, Party cells of the commune’s Party Committee have registered many jobs to study and follow Uncle Ho, thereby making contributions to the process of advancing the criteria in the locality. In the past five years, local residents in the commune have donated 16,300sq.m of land worth 3.1 billion VND; donated property on land worth 265 million VND; contributed 40,000 workdays worth 4 billion VND to build traffic and irrigation facilities, cultural houses and sports areas, contributing to the implementation of advanced new-style rural area building criteria.

Practicing thrift following Uncle Ho's example in association with the movement to help poor students overcome difficulties, since 2016, 78 collectives and individuals in the commune have sponsored 75 students, with a total amount of 242.7 million VND. Implementing the "Accompanying children to school" movement of the commune's Military Command, from the 2016-2017 academic year to the 2019-2020 academic year, 41 collectives donated 87 bicycles worth 149 million VND to poor students. In the 2020-2021 school year, the Fatherland Front, unions, Party cells, units and businesses presented gifts to and supported children living in difficult circumstances, with a total amount of nearly 190 million VND.

Phan Tien Dat, Secretary of the commune Party Committee said that to effectively implement the Politburo’s Directive No. 05, the communal Party Committee has clearly defined the exemplary responsibilities of officials and Party members, especially key leaders, in studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and lifestyle, while putting the implementation of the Directive into the programmes and plans of action to implement the resolutions of the Party congresses at all levels and the contents of regular activities of the Party cell. Every year, the Party Committee and the Inspection Commission of the Party Committee organised the inspection and supervision over Party cells’ studying the directive. At the same time, the commune Party Committee continues to build and implement programmes to teach and study Ho Chi Minh's thoughts, morality and lifestyle for students, officials and Party members.

With the synchronous implementation of solutions, every year, the commune Party Committee has 80-90 percent of its members well completing their tasks (of whom, about 20 percent excellently complete their tasks); and 95 – 100 percent of Party cells well fulfilling their tasks. In the past five years, the district's Party Committee has assessed the communal Party Committee has always performed well and successfully its tasks. The commune Party Committee was awarded a certificate of merit for its excellent achievements in studying and following President Ho Chi Minh's thoughts, morality and lifestyle by the provincial People's Committee.
