(HBO) – The Standing Board of the Hoa Binh Provincial Party Committee has held a meeting to review the socio-economic situation in 2021 and some other important issues. Ngo Van Tuan, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, and head of the National Assembly deputies’ delegation of Hoa Binh, chaired the event.

Participants discussed a draft report on the 2021 performance and the targets and tasks for next year. Accordingly, Hoa Binh is expected to achieve and surpass 16 of the 21 targets set in its Party Committee’s resolution.

This year’s gross regional domestic product (GRDP) is estimated to grow by 3.07 percent compared to 2020. Of the GRDP, agriculture - forestry - fisheries make up 23.13 percent, industry - construction 40.07 percent, and services 30.96 percent. Encouraging outcomes have been recorded in terms of culture, education - training, health care, communications, technology application, environmental protection, and natural resource management. Besides, efforts to ensure security and order have been promoted.

However, due to impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, transport and tourism services, production, business activities, and people’s life have faced numerous difficulties, the draft report noted.

It also pointed out five targets that Hoa Binh may fail to achieve, namely economic growth, economic structure, total State budget revenue, numbers of new businesses and cooperatives, and health insurance coverage.

Officials at the meeting analysed subjective causes, difficulties, and weaknesses to work out measures for fulfilling tasks.

Speaking at the meeting, Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Ngo Van Tuan requested that in the time ahead, all-level authorities, sectors, localities, and agencies take more drastic actions so as to achieve the targets set for 2021 at the highest possible level.

In particular, they need to pay more attention to administrative reforms, business climate improvement, land management, planning, site clearance, and the progress of key transport infrastructure projects. Besides, it is necessary to reduce frequent expenditure, prioritise resources for the pandemic combat, step up cultural and educational activities, boost security and order ensuring, properly carry out social welfare, care for people’s living standards, and prepare for the 2022 Lunar New Year holiday, according to the official./.
