(HBO) – In order to realise the target set by the resolution of the 23rd congress of Phu Cuong commune Party Organisation in building strong and pure Party organisation, optimising potentials and resources to complete the new-style rural area building programme in the next five years, the communal Party Organisation has issued a number of resolutions in different areas, including Resolution No.03 on the cultivation of winter crops in the 2021-2025 period with a vision to 2030, which has brought about positive changes in local mindset in developing agricultural economy.

Officials and Party members of Phu Cuong commune in Tan Lac district have regularly surveyed the situation in the locality and given helpful advice to local leaders on the direction of the implementation of resolutions.

Before this year’s winter crop, Phu Cuong often saw 976 hectares of land left uncultivated after the winter-spring and summer-autumn crops. Of the area, 850 hectares could be used for winter crop.

Nearly one year after the resolution was issued, the commune has made planning for winter crop in 10 out of 11 villages, excepting for Lam Luu village where there is no farming land.

In the winter crop of 2021, the commune selected Khoi village to pilot a project of cultivating 0.5 hectares of garlic, and 0.2 hectares of potatoes; while Bat village was selected to pilot the cultivation of 0.5 hectares of white potatoes.

Cao Viet Dong, Secretary of the communal Party Committee said that right after the summer-autumn crop, locals had planted 180 hectares of sweet potatoes, 170 hectares of peanut, along with 15 hectares of maize in Khieng, Bay and Khoi villages, and 10 hectares of white potatoes in Khoi village, making full use of farming land for the winter crop.

Dong said that amid impacts of COVID-19, before the winter crop, the commune’s Party Committee held many discussions to give locals guidelines on the cultivation of plants with high economic value and high market demands.

The Party Organisation of Phu Cuong commune currently has 15 Party cells and 367 Party members. Along with regular meetings every month, the organisation has held many thematic meetings to discuss urgent issues in the locality, focusing on matters related to implementation of the resolutions of the Party Congresses at all levels.

Phu Cuong pins high hope on the successful implementation of the resolution of the communal Party Congress in the 2021-2025 tenure, turning the locality into a new-style rural commune as scheduled, with average growth rate in production value reaching 13 percent, and per capita income of locals hitting 80 million VND in 2025.
