(HBO) – Truong Thi Mai, member of the Politburo, Secretary of the Party Central Committee and head of the Party Central Committee’s Organisation Commission, on January 20 led a delegation to pay a visit to the Party organisation and people of Hoa Binh on the occasion of the upcoming Lunar New Year (Tet) Festival.

At the meeting with the delegation, on behalf of provincial leaders, Ngo Van Tuan, member of the Party Central Committee and Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, briefed the delegation on the achievements of the province in 2021, with the issuance of an action plan to implement the 13th National Party Congress’ Resolution and the resolution of the 17th provincial Party Congress, along with 39 thematic resolutions, directives, plans and programmes.

Last year, Hoa Binh showed strong performance in COVID-19 prevention and control and COVID-19 vaccination. It completed 16 out of 21 economic targets for the year, Tuan said.

Regarding major tasks for 2022, the provincial leader said that the province will continue to focus on implementing the dual targets of preventing COVID-19 and recovering socio-economic development at the same time.

Speaking at the meeting, Truong Thi Mai hailed efforts of Hoa Binh in 2021 and asked the province to apply drastic measures to implement all socio-economic tasks for 2022, and pay greater attention to human resources development and education and training, as well as the development of young officials.

She extended best New Year wishes to the Party organisation and local residents of Hoa Binh.

On the occasion, the delegation presented 50 electric cookers, 600 water purifier machines and 12 billion VND (530,094 USD) in cash to the Fund for the Poor of Hoa Binh, as well as gifts to students, poor people, medical workers, welfare policy beneficiaries and the needy. The delegation also presented 2 billion VND to the provincial Association for Education Promotion.

Earlier, the delegation paid Tet visits and presented 200 Tet gifts to the Party organisation and locals in Da Bac district. The Vietnam joint Stock Commercial Bank for Industry and Trade and the Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group also presented 10 billion VND to Da Bac to build medical stations and kindergartens.
