(HBO) – The provincial People's Committee of Hoa Binh province held a conference to review the emulation and reward work in 2021 and launch the patriotic emulation campaign for 2022. Bui Van Khanh, Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the provincial People's Committee, chaired the event.


Authorised by President Nguyen Xuan Phuc, Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Ngo Van Tuan awards a first-class Labour Order to the Party Organisation, administration and people of Hoa Binh province.

Despite being heavily affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, the province obtained positive socio-economic results last year thanks to the implementation of the emulation movement. Its economic growth reached 2.66 percent. State budget revenue hit 5.6 trillion VND (247 million USD), up 36 percent over the previous year.

The province's gross regional domestic product (GRDP) was estimated to increase by 3.07 percent while per capita income is estimated at 61.5 million VND, meeting 93.75 percent of the provincial People's Council’s resolution. Nine more communes fulfilled the new rural area standards and the rate of poor households decreased to 6.5 percent. The cultural sector continued to develop while security and defence mission was maintained.

Addressing the conference, Ngo Van Tuan, Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, congratulated the commended collectives and individuals. He emphasized that the COVID-19 pandemic will develop complicatedly and may prolong this year, therefore, the Party Organisation, administration and people of all ethnic groups in the province will continue to implement the "dual goal" of fighting the pandemic while maintaining socio-economic development and ensuring social security and welfare.

Tuan suggested sectors and agencies continue to promote dissemination and effective implementation of guidelines and policies of the Party and the State on the emulation and reward work.

It was necessary to promote the role of reputable people and strength of great solidarity of ethnic minorities in the organization of ethnic minority movement with innovative and exciting contents, creating breakthroughs for development. Rewards must be presented in a timely way to the right persons for the right reasons and in an objective and transparent manner to ensure the educational and encouragement effects of the work, he said.

On this occasion, the provincial Party Organisation, administration and people of Hoa Binh province were awarded a first-class Labour Order by President Nguyen Xuan Phuc. Bui Van Tinh, former Secretary of the provincial Party Committee was presented a second-class Independence Order and Nguyen Van Quang, former Chairman of the provincial People's Committee was awarded a third-class Independence Order.

At the conference, Bui Van Khanh, Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the provincial People's Committee, launched the patriotic emulation campaign for 2022 which focuses on the successful implementation of socio-economic targets and tasks in 2022. The targets include achieving an economic growth rate of 9 percent, GRDP per capita of 66.7 million VND, total state budget revenue of 6.41 trillion VND and the urbanisation rate of 32 percent.
