(HBO) – Secretary of the Hoa Binh provincial Party’s Committee Ngo Van Tuan led a delegation to pay a working visit to military-run telecom group Viettel’s headquarters on March 11, during which both sides signed an agreement for cooperation in digital transformation.

Leaders of Hoa Binh province and military-run telecom group Viettel sign an agreement for cooperation in digital transformation.

Under the strategic cooperation for digital transformation in Hoa Binh between 2022 and 2025, Viettel will provide the province with hi-tech solutions to accelerate public administrative reforms and develop e-government. The two sides will also partner in developing telecom infrastructure; applying IT in building smart city, smart agriculture and smart tourism; improving information security; and enhancing quality of telecom and IT workforce.

Colonel Cao Duc Thang, Chairman and General Director of Viettel Group, pledged to deploy highly-qualified personnel and ensure sufficient funding and cyber security in order to fulfil the group’s commitments. He also spoke highly of Hoa Binh’s potential and advantages as well as its pioneering vision for digital government and digital transformation at large.

For his part, Tuan spoke highly of Viettel’s contributions to Hoa Binh’s development over the last several years, particularly at the time of COVID-19 when Viettel’s hi-tech solutions such as e-meeting and paperless meeting rooms have proved effective.

The province plans to take a number of drastic measures to boost socio-economic development under four key pillars – clean agriculture, high-value supporting industries, tourism, and the suburban "second home” trend, he said.

As digital transformation has been one of the province’s key tasks, he said he expects that with this deal, the province will receive attention, investment and consultation from Viettel in digital transformation planning, public administrative reforms and business climate improvement, telecom infrastructure, and personnel training.

Both sides expressed their commitment to maintaining a long-term partnership and to fulfilling goals set in the agreement./.
