(HBO) – Cao Phong district celebrated its 20th founding anniversary on March 15, during which the district was honoured with the second-class Labour Order.


Bui Duc Hinh, Deputy Secretary of the Hoa Binh Party Committee and Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee hands over the second-class Labour Order to the Party Organisation, administration and people of Cao Phong.

Divided from Ky Son district 20 years ago, Cao Phong now has nine communes and one township with a population of 46,000. After 20 years of construction and development, Cao Phong has seen progress in socio-economic development. Its average economic growth reaches 9.3 percent per year, with per capita income of 51.5 million VND in 2021. The ratio of poor households has reduced to 5.33 percent.

Along with its strength in agriculture as a Cao Phong orange farming region, the district has developed its tourism thanks to the Nui Chua cave complex, which was recognised as a national relic site.

Addressing the ceremony, Bui Duc Hinh, Deputy Secretary of the Hoa Binh Party Committee and Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee congratulated Cao Phong on the outstanding achievements that the local Party Organisation, administration and ethnic groups have gained.

He expressed his hope that in the time to come, Cao Phong will continue to transform its economic structure in a modern and effective direction, focusing on promoting high-quality agriculture in line with agricultural restructuring. Cao Phong should strive to become a new-style rural district before 2025 with higher education and health care services and better social policies, and promoted cultural values and tourism, he said. He also reminded the district to enhance the Party leadership capacity, speed up administrative reform and improve its business environment./.
