(HBO) - Secretary of the Party Committee of Hoa Binh province Ngo Van Tuan, who is also Head of the provincial Steering Committee for Planning, had a working session with Hoa Binh city’s Party Committee on the results of the implementation of the planning and management work in the city. Vice Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the provincial People’s Council Bui Duc Hinh, Vice Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Bui Van Khanh, and representatives from relevant departments and sectors also joined the session.

During the meeting, representatives from
consulting units and the Party Committee of Hoa Binh city updated participants
on the results of the planning and management work in the city.
Under a project on adjustments to the master
planning scheme of Hoa Binh city until 2045, Hoa Binh city will be developed
into a political - economic, cultural - social and scientific - technical
centre of the province, which will also serve as a traffic hub connecting the
capital city of Hanoi and the northwest region.
It will also be an ecological city imbued with
cultural, historical and ethnic identities of the northwestern region, and hold
an important position in terms of national defence and security to the west of
Hanoi.
Hoa Binh city's population is forecast to reach
315,000 by 2045, with 95.2 percent of them living in urban areas.
The city will be developed in accordance with a
multi-centre model with a planned natural land area being 34,865 ha.
Delegates also gave opinions on 22 sub-division
planning projects and one detailed planning project with a total area of about
9,717 ha as well as adjustments to Hoa Binh city’s planning schemes in order to
ensure the consistency with provincial and sectorial planning schemes and the
suitability, and inheritance of the existing planning schemes.
Speaking at the session, Secretary of the
provincial Party Committee Ngo Van Tuan emphasised the importance of the
planning work and the necessity to develop Hoa Binh city into the heart of the
province and a satellite of Hanoi capital city.
The planning work should adhere to criteria on
urban development in line with legal regulations, and exploit the city’s
strengths and potential of tourism and culture, he added./.
After three years of implementing the Politburo’s Conclusion No. 01-KL/TW on continuing performing Directive 05-CT/TW on enhancing the learning and studying of President Ho Chi Minh’s thought, moral example and lifestyle, Lac Thuy district of Hoa Binh province has discovered many effective models and practices, creating a spillover effect in the local community, helping to develop a clean and strong Party Organisation meeting the requirements in the new situation.
