(HBO) – The Hoa Binh provincial Party Committee, People’s Council, People’s Committee and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee held a grand ceremony on July 27 to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27, 1947 -2022) and meet representatives of local revolution contributors.
Participants in the event included Ngo Van Tuan, member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Auditor General of the State Audit Office of Vietnam and head of the National Assembly deputies’ delegation of Hoa Binh; Bui Van Tinh, former member of the Party Central Committee and former Secretary of the provincial Party Committee; Bui Duc Hinh, Standing Vice Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the provincial People’s Council; and Tran Dang Ninh, former Standing Vice Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, former Chairman of the provincial People’s Council and former head of the National Assembly deputies’ delegation of Hoa Binh. The ceremony was also attended by Heroic Vietnamese Mother Nguyen Thi Anh, war invalids, victims of Agent Orange/dioxin, and families of revolution contributors.
Participants in the ceremony observe a minute of silence to commemorate heroes and martyrs who laid down their lives for national independence and reunification.
Over the past years, the provincial Party Committee’s Standing Board has issued many directions for promoting the implementation of the Party’s guidelines and policies on preferential treatment for revolution contributors.
The movements calling on all people to care for families of war invalids, martyrs and revolution contributors and to donate to the Gratitude Fund have been developing strongly, helping build and repair thousands of houses for the contributors, upgrade hundreds of monuments to martyrs, open savings accounts for disadvantaged people, and care for Heroic Vietnamese Mothers. So far, over 99.5% of revolution contributors’ families have enjoyed living standards equal to or higher than the average in their areas.
On behalf of provincial authorities, Bui Duc Hinh, Standing Vice Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the provincial People’s Council, expressed his deep gratitude to heroes, martyrs, and revolution contributors. He also appreciated extraordinary dedications and efforts by war invalids as well as families of martyrs and other contributors while highly valuing effective contributions by collectives and individuals to care for revolution contributors and their families.
He asked all-level Party committees, administrations, organisations, sectors and localities to push ahead with communications to encourage people to join the State in caring for revolution contributors and giving practical material and spiritual support to their families.
Meanwhile, war invalids, martyrs’ families and revolution contributors should make further contributions and uphold their noble virtues to become bright examples for their descendants to follow, the official noted, appealing to the entire cadres, Party members, businesses and people in Hoa Binh to actively take part in gratitude expressing activities.
At the ceremony, the provincial People’s Committee granted certificates of merit to 20 outstanding revolution contributors, along with eight collectives and 20 individuals with prominent dedications to gratitude expressing activities.
Many individuals and collectives also donated to the Gratitude Fund on this occasion./.
