Residents affected by COVID-19 pandemic in Tan Thanh commune, Mai Chau district, receive support in line with regulations.

Ha Cong Nghi, Deputy Secretary of the district’s Party Committee, said the Standing Board of the Party Committee and the district People’s Committee have worked to promote directives, resolutions and plans on anti-corruption among all-level Party Committees, authorities, organisations, agencies and units, as well as officials, Party members, public servants and people of all social strata.

Specific measures have also been taken, helping to create positive changes and consensus in both awareness and action in the fight against corruption and other negative phenomena.

One of the effective solutions adopted by the district is to publicise the operation of agencies and units in accordance with the Law on Anti-Corruption, in tandem with administrative reform.

The district has also paid attention to relocating those with high positions and power.

During the period, the Party Committee’s Organisation Board and the district’s Bureau of Home Affairs provided consultancy for the Standing Board of the Party Committee and the People’s Committee in the relocation of 282 officials and civil servants, said head of the Organisation Board Nguyen Hung Cuong.

The Party Committee’s Standing Board and the People’s Committee also instructed all of the 106 bureaus, agencies, units, and Party Committees and People’s Committees of communes and towns in asset and income declaration, targeting 3,522 people, of whom 3,520 (99.94%) made declarations and no dishonesty had been found.

Apart from the strong political determination, local agencies and units have stepped up the combat among law enforcement forces, by imposing clear, transparent, specific working regulations and effective management mechanisms.

Between 2012 and 2022, through inspections and supervisions within law enforcement agencies and units, a total of 10 cases relating to corruption and wastefulness with 13 officials involved were detected.

Of them, competent agencies handled one case with four individuals who were charged with "abusing position and power while performing duties, causing losses to the State budget”.

Local competent forces also handled 13 officials and public servants who committed wrongdoings, of whom two were reprimanded, six warned, and five expelled from the Party.
