The provincial health sector has a total of 19 agencies and units, with 3,563 workers as of June 2022. This year, it has played the key role in epidemic prevention and control, especially the COVID-19 pandemic.
As of October, neither suspected cases nor infections of dangerous diseases like Influenza A (H7N9, H5N1) were reported in Hoa Binh.
Apart from disease prevention and control, the sector has rolled out target programmes on health care and population.
However, it is now facing an array of difficulties such as the shortage of workforce and equipment, downgrading infrastructure, and problems regarding health insurance coverage.
Given this, the sector proposed the provincial Party Committee and People’s Committee instruct departments, agencies and localities to better materialise relevant documents, increase budget spending on health care, and give lump-sum support to health workers following the pandemic combat.
In his closing remarks, Khanh lauded the sector for its performance over the past time, especially during the pandemic fight, asking it for more attention to personnel training.
The sector should send documents seeking lump-sum support for health workers, he said, asking departments and agencies to take into consideration the proposals raised by the sector in accordance with legal regulations./.
