In 2022, the provincial People’s Committee included nine tasks relevant to ethnic minority affairs in its work plan, issued some specific policies for ethnic minority areas, and effectively carried out policies on education - training, healthcare, and culture to boost socio-economic development and ensure defence - security in those areas.
To implement the national target programme on socio-economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas for 2021 - 2025, Hoa Binh built a plan to allocate over 1.57 trillion VND (66.3 million USD) sourced from the programme. He also called on the Government to provide more policies for developing livelihoods for ethnic minority people; press on with infrastructure and transport projects in those areas, especially arterial roads and those linking different localities; and effectively carry out forest and livelihood development policies in the areas.
Addressing the event, Minister, Chairman of the Committee for Ethnic Minority Affairs Hau A Lenh highly valued Hoa Binh province’s efforts to carry out ethnic minority policies.
