(HBO) – The Party Committee of Cao Phong district has held a conference to conduct mid-term review of the implementation of the resolution of the 28th district Party Congress for the 2020 - 2025 tenure.

Secretary of the Cao Phong Party Committee Ha Van Di hands over the decisions on the establishment of some grassroots Party organisations.

Over the first half of the tenure, the district Party Committee and its Standing Board have boosted leadership and directions over the implementation of the tasks and targets set in the resolution, especially the three focal programmes and three strategic breakthroughs related to the COVID-19 pandemic combat, public health protection, and socio-economic recovery and development as targeted by the 28th district Party Congress.

So far, Cao Phong has almost reached and is likely to fulfill or surpass 10 of the 14 targets set in the congress’s resolution. It needs stronger efforts to achieve two targets on economic growth and new-style rural districts. Meanwhile, the district may fail to reach the targets on urbanisation and health insurance coverage.

Cao Phong has recorded an average annual economic growth rate of 8.6%, per capita income of 56 million VND (nearly 2,400 USD), a positive shift in the local economic structure, the development of agriculture towards cash crop production with high value and compliance with VietGAP standards, and the sustained geographical indication and brand of Cao Phong orange.

Besides, it has reaped significant results in the building of new-style rural areas, including seven of its nine communes meeting new-style countryside criteria and four of the nine criteria for a new-style rural district satisfied. Socio-economic infrastructure has been further developed, both urban and rural areas gained a facelift, cultural and social aspects improved considerably, social security ensured, and defence - security firmly maintained.

The district has also paid attention to the Party building and promoted the effectiveness of all-level administrations’ management and governance. Solidarity in the community has also been strengthened and brought into play, according to local officials.

To achieve the targets and carry out the tasks set in the resolution of the 28th district Party Congress, the Cao Phong Party Committee outlined four groups of duties and 23 key implementation measures. Among the 14 main targets, it will maintain 11 targets, raise one (on the rate of trained workers, from 61.5% to 70%), and lower two others (on the urbanisation rate from 22% to 17.5%, and on the health insurance coverage from 99% to 97%).

The conference also announced the decisions on the dissolution and establishment of grassroots Party organisations, and on the appointment of the committees of some Party cells and some secretaries and deputies secretaries of several Party cells under the district Party Committee./.
