(HBO) - Defining the detection, building and replication of outstanding models and examples as an important factor to boost patriotic emulation movements, in recent years, Lac Thuy district has focused on integrating and concretising these movements into the implementation of key tasks of agencies, units and localities, thus creating a great motivation to contribute to the successful implementation of political and socio-economic development tasks, and ensuring defence and security in the locality.

Over the past time, the Party Committee, authorities and people in the district have effectively implemented the Politburo’s Directive No. 34-CT/TW on continuing to renew and promote patriotic emulation movements, and detecting, fostering, summarising and replicating outstanding examples. Besides annual emulation campaigns and those launched by the Prime Minister and the province, the district also initiated its own movements associated with the its political tasks. For example, in the "Study and follow President Ho Chi Minh's thought, morality and lifestyle" movement, there appear various outstanding examples in socio-economic fields.

The "Lac Thuy district joins hands in building new-style rural area" movement has received warm response from departments and sectors at all levels and people from all walks of life. In 2020, the district was recognised as meeting new-style rural standards, and is building advanced and model new-style rural communes. By the end of 2022, the district had four communes meeting advanced criteria for new-style rural areas, 15 residential areas meeting standards for model new rural areas, 40 model gardens, and 17 products meeting provincial OCOP (one commune-one product) standards.

Implementing the campaign of "the whole country joins hands to help the poor and leave no one left behind", from the fund for the poor at all levels, in the five years from 2018 to 2023, the district has presented more than 6,000 Tet gifts, assisted with the reparation and construction of 103 houses for policy beneficiaries, provided support for 14 poor households; and given gifts to 101 poor students with a total value of nearly 4 billion VND (170,000 USD); and mobilised goods and necessities worth 5.5 billion VND to support COVID-19 prevention and control efforts.

Nguyen Ngoc Van, Vice Chairman of the Lac Thuy district People's Committee said that the organisation of patriotic emulation movements in the district over the past years has contributed to the completion of the district's annual socio-economic targets and tasks. Social welfare and security is guaranteed; culture, education, training and health receive due attention; and political security, social order and safety are maintained. The building of the Party, the administration, the Fatherland Front and mass organizations has seen good progress, the apparatus has been streamlined, and the quality of officials, civil servants and public employees has continuously improved./.
