(HBO) – A Hoa Binh working group led by Bui Duc Hinh, Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee, visited and presented gifts to the Party Organisation, administration and residents of Cao Phong-Thach Yen former revolutionary base in Cao Phong district on August 22.

Bui Duc Hinh, Deputy Secretary of the Hoa Binh Party Committee and Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee, presents gifts from the Party Committee, People’s Council, People’s Committee, and provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee to representatives of Cao Phong-Thach Yen former revolutionary base.

Cao Phong – Thach Yen is one of the four revolutionary bases of Hoa Binh province, which belongs to the Hoa-Ninh-Thanh revolutionary zone. It was recognised as a national historical relic site by the Ministry of Culture and Information in 1996.

In late 1944, the regional party committee of Bac Ky assigned Vu Tho to the region to popularise the nation’s revolution among local ethnic communities, which paved a way for the establishment of the Cao Phong – Thach Yen revolutionary base. In July 1945, Vu Tho selected 30 young, tough and enthusiastic militiamen for military training courses in Cao Phong – Thach Yen region.

On August 23, 1945, the delegation of the Cao Phong – Thach Yen base coordinated with the army in Lac Son to enter Phuong Lam, joining revolutionary forces in the whole province to seize the power.

The site was recognised as a national historical relic site by the Ministry of Culture and Information in 1996.

Over the years, upholding the revolutionary tradition, the Party Organisation, administration and locals of Thach Yen and Hop Phong communes have fostered solidarity, optimising the localities’ potentials and advantages to boost socio-economic development, improving locals’ living conditions and ensuring security and order.

Hop Phong commune was recognised as a new-style rural area in 2022, while Thach Yen has completed 15 out of the 19 criteria for such area. It is striving to complete all the criteria in 2024.

Presenting gifts to the Party Organisation, administration and locals in the Cao Phong-Thach Yen former revolutionary base, Hinh hailed efforts and achievements of Thach Yen and Hip Phong communes in socio-economic development and new-style rural area building.

He asked the Party Committee, administration and locals of the two communes to continue promoting the revolutionary tradition and implement policies and directions given by the Party and State, strengthening the building and rectification of the Party and political system, and reorganising its official apparatus after the merger of communal administrative units. He asked localities to focus on directing residents in socio-economic development, especially in developing production regions to meet the market demands.
