A delegation led by Nguyen Phi Long, alternate member of the Party Central Committee and Secretary of the Hoa Binh provincial Party Committee, offered greetings and presented gifts to Khoan Du Parish in Khoan Du commune, Lac Thuy district, on December 20 during a visit ahead of Christmas 2023.

The delegation was also joined by Bui Tien Luc, member of the provincial Party Committee’s Standing Board, head of the provincial Party Committee’s board for information and education, and President of the provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee; Col. Do Thanh Binh, member of the provincial Party Committee’s Standing Board and Director of the provincial Department of Public Security; Dinh Cong Su, Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee; and leaders of some departments and Lac Thuy district.

Khoan Du Parish in Khoan Du commune was established in 1872. Catholic followers account for 85% of the commune’s population.

A representative of the parish thanked the provincial Party Committee, People’s Council, People’s Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, along with the Party Committee and administration of Lac Thuy district for their attention, encouragement, and sharing with local Catholics’ aspirations.

He said the parish hopes that authorities will continue creating conditions for it to develop and contribute to the great national solidarity to help with local socio-economic development.

On behalf of provincial leaders, Secretary Long offered the best Christmas wishes to the parish and Catholic followers in Khoan Du commune, and expressed his sympathy for local residents on difficulties caused by the COVID-19 pandemic over the last two years.

He briefed them on the province’s socio-economic situation in 2023 and appreciated Catholics’ efforts and contributions to the local socio-economic development.

He affirmed that the Party and State always respect people’s freedom of religion and belief, and create conditions for all religions to develop equally in line with legal regulations.

The official took in the parish representative’s opinions, adding that he hopes Catholics will actively participate in patriotic emulation movements, lead a good secular and religious life, help build up the great national solidarity, and join hands with people nationwide to support local and national development.
