A delegation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs headed by Minister Bui Thanh Son had a working session with Hoa Binh authorities on January 13. Welcoming the delegation were Nguyen Phi Long, an alternate member of the Party Central Committee and Secretary of the provincial Party Committee; Bui Duc Hinh, Standing Vice Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the provincial People’s Council; and Bui Van Khanh, Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee.
At the event, the Hoa Binh leaders informed the diplomats on the local socio-economic development, international integration and foreign relations. Accordingly, the province has launched comprehensive external activities serving the Party, State and people-to-people diplomacy, and sustained its traditional friendship with many localities from Laos, Mongolia, the Republic of Korea, and Japan.
The Secretary of the provincial Party Committee expressed his hope for further support from the ministry. He requested the provincial People’s Committee to proactively work with the ministry’s units to build a coordination programme between the sides.
Minister Son suggested the province pay more attention to economic diplomacy, investment promotion, and expansion of partnerships with Chinese, Japanese and RoK partners and those from the Southeast Asian region. Focus should be given to tourism cooperation and culture diplomacy, which are Hoa Binh’s strengths.
He also asked relevant units to assist the province in speeding up the compilation of a dossier to seek UNESCO's recognition of the Mo Muong cultural heritage and completion of a similar dossier for the Hoa Binh Culture.
Earlier, the delegation visited and presented gifts to workers at an industrial park in the left bank of the Da River and offered incense at a monument dedicated to late President Ho Chi Minh./.
