Nguyen Phi Long, alternate member of the Party Central Committee and Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, addresses the meeting.

At the event, participants reviewed the results obtained in Q1 and also pointed out shortcomings and weaknesses in the building of the Party, administration, Fatherland Front, and socio-political organisations, along with in socio-economic development affairs such as the gross regional domestic product (GRDP) growth, public investment disbursement, and site clearance and compensation. Basing on the findings, they proposed several focal solutions and tasks for Q2 and the entire 2024.

Officials also gave opinions on some proposals of the Party civil affairs board at the provincial People’s Committee, including the adjustment of the 2024 public investment plan of Hoa Binh, the adjustment of the investment policy on the Road 433 project leading to Dam Phe hamlet in Muong Chieng commune of Da Bac district, the adjustment of the investment policy on the upgrade of Provincial Road 435, and the decentralisation of state management in some local socio-economic aspects.

Addressing the meeting, Secretary Long asked all-level Party committees and administrations to properly perform the Party and political system building tasks, effectively comply with directions issued by the Party Central Committee and the province, and review the implementation of the directives and resolutions released by the provincial Party Committee and its Standing Board.

He requested them make proper preparations for all-level Party congresses, conduct examination and supervision effectively and on schedule, pay due attention to the corruption combat and the enforcement of the Party’s disciplinary measures, reform the methodology and improve the effectiveness of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and socio-political organisations’ activities, and enhance social supervision and feedback to engage the public in the Party and State building.

With regard to socio-economic development, the official demanded all-level authorities and relevant sectors step up the implementation of 14 key investment projects in the province, accelerate public investment disbursement, and assign capital disbursement tasks under the three national target programmes.

Besides, it is necessary to promote cadres, civil servants, and especially leaders’ sense of responsibility towards administrative reform, particularly administrative procedure reform; tackle obstacles to businesses and people; and take comprehensive measures for ensuring social security.

The official also asked for effectively implementing the plan on preserving and bringing into play the values of the Muong ethnic culture and the Hoa Binh Civilisation in the province, reviewing and speeding up the projects on upgrading health establishments from provincial to grassroots levels, and considering the organisation of a meeting between provincial leaders and the veterans who used to take part in the Dien Bien Phu Campaign.
