(HBO) - Senior officials of the Standing Board of the Hoa Binh provincial Party Committee on April 18 had a working session with a visiting delegation of the Hanoi People's Committee led by Tran Sy Thanh, member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the municipal Party Committee, and Chairman of the municipal People's Committee.


Tran Sy Thanh, member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the municipal Party Committee, and Chairman of the municipal People's Committee, hands over a donation worth 15 billion VND to Hoa Binh to help the locality build 300 "great unity” houses.

Attending the working session were alternate member of the Party Central Committee and Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, Nguyen Phi Long; Permanent Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, and Chairman of the provincial People's Council Bui Duc Hinh; Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the provincial People's Committee Bui Van Khanh; and representatives of the provincial People’s Committee, the provincial Fatherland Front Committee, departments and sectors, the Hoa Binh city People’s Committee, and Luong Son district.

Speaking at the meeting, Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Quach Tat Liem delivered a report on socio-economic development results of the province and the cooperation between Hoa Binh and Hanoi.

In recent years, the two localities have regularly engaged in exchange activities and investment promotion; organised survey programmes and experience sharing; supported the provision of investment information; shared iformation, mechanisms, and policies to support enterprises; and supported trade promotion, introduction of safe products; developed agricultural supply chains, labeling over 8 million traceability stamps for Hoa Binh’s products.

So far, many local products such as oranges, red pomelos, Da River fish, and organic vegetables are consumed in the Hanoi market.

Regarding investment and construction, aproximately 200 businesses in Hanoi have invested in projects in Hoa Binh. Authorised agencies of the two localities have collaborated to handle administrative procedures for three projects: the Huong Binh cable line; a project to build urban chainwater supply system Son Tay-Hoa Lac-Xuan Mai-Mieu Mon-Hanoi-Ha Dong; a construction investment project of Xuan Mai water supply system.

Hoa Binh and Hanoi have closely collaborated in completing procedures, and constructing and upgrading National Highway 6 - Xuan Mai - Hoa Binh section, an investment project to expand Hoa Lac - Hoa Binh road, investing in building Ring Road 5.

In the cultural and tourism sector, the two localities have actively supported tourism associations in signing and implementing collaborative activities, and building several regional-linked tourism products.

Delegates have discussed and proposed several measures to promote cooperation between the two localities in the fields of investment promotion and attraction, trade, agriculture, culture, sports and tourism; transportation, healthcare, education-training, environment, ensuring social security and order.

Long said that cooperation programmes between Hoa Binh and Hanoi in recent years have contributed to promoting socio-economic development, ensuring social security and order. He expressed his hope that Hanoi will continue to create favourable conditions and support Hoa Binh to develop its advantageous sectors.

For his part, Thanh acknowledged and highly valued coordination between the two localities, especially in developing transportation infrastructure, spiritual culture, tourism and service. He also thanked the provincial Party Committee, authority and people of Hoa Binh for their support for Hanoi.

He stressed the need to strengthen coordination in transportation, construction and transportation infrastructure development to increase regional connectivity, saying that Hanoi commits to closely coordinate with Hoa Binh to implement collaborative initiatives.

On this occasion, Thanh handed over a donation worth 15 billion VND (nearly 590,000 USD) to Hoa Binh to help the locality to build 300 houses as part of the campaign to eliminate "temporary houses and dilapidated houses" in the locality.
