Over recent times, in Mai Chau district, there have been many typical examples of studying and following President Ho Chi Minh's ideology, ethics, and lifestyle in all aspects of the social life, contributing to successfully implementing the tasks of socio-economic development, and ensuring social welfare and defence and security in the locality.

Ha Thi Chung (weaver), Pom Coong residential area, Mai Chau town (Mai Chau), maintains the brocade weaving profession of the Thai ethnic group to attract tourists.

At midnight, when everyone is sleeping, Ha Thi Ngoc, a member of the I love Mai Chau club, is busy cooking. Rain or shine, this work has been maintained regularly by her and the club members every Tuesday since 2018. To date, the club has given nearly 12,000 free rice or porridge portions to patients of the district and neighbouring provinces hospitalised at the district Medical Centre with a total value of more than 180 million VND (7,098 USD).

Ha Tuan Hai, head of the club, said that in addition to distributing free rice and porridge to patients, the club has also carried out many activities such as "Warm winter in Xa Linh", "Charity wardrobe", and "Tet of Love" and supported disadvantageous households in the locality with a total budget of over 400 million VND.

With the desire to get rich in the homeland and preserve local cultural features, since 1996, Ha Thi Chung's household, Mai Chau town, has invested in running a homestay providing community-based tourism services. Her enthusiasm, hospitality, and tourism business combined with local cultural experiences have made her family's homestay an attractive address, luring thousands of visitors every year. The family's total annual revenue tops 500 million VND. It also helps create regular jobs for five workers with an average income of nearly 6 million VND a person a month.

Chung said: "To leave a good impression on tourists, I always learn how to do tourism so that tourists coming to Mai Chau and my family will have interesting experiences and want to come back with their relatives and friends. That's why, in addition to welcoming tourists with all my heart, I pay attention to guiding them to visit and experience the unique culture of the locality. They are excited to participate in building stilt houses and weaving brocade with the Thai ethnic people here."

Ha Van Quang, Vice Chairman of the Mai Chau town People's Committee, affirmed that the role models in all fields, with different tasks, circumstances, and ages, all promote patriotism, dare to think, dare to do, and dare to take responsibility.
