(HBO) - Over the past years, the sports in general and the high-achievement sports in particular have always been paid attention to by all levels and branches of the province. They have been focusing on investing in the facilities and the sports institutions, creating conditions for the athletes and the gifted students to participate in the regional and the national sports tournaments, targeting the national and the international sports arenas.

The athletes of Hoa Binh province are competing at the National Terrain Cycling Championship for the Youth and the National Terrain Cycling Championship in 2019.

Up to now, the facilities have gradually met the requirements of the high-achievement sports. Together with the efforts of the staff, the athletes and the coaches there has been great progress in Hoa Binh sports.

In 2019, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism coordinated with the General Department of Sports to successfully host National Terrain Cycling Championship for the Youth and the National Terrain Cycling Championship, the 33rd National Road Cycling Championship, and successfully organized the bicycle racing "Back to Dien Bien Phu - 2019, People's Army Newspaper Cup” through Hoa Binh province.

In 2019, the provincial sports delegation with over 160 athletes competed in 18 regional and national sports tournaments, winning 81 medals (including 31 gold medals, 22 silver medals and 28 bronze medals. There have been 6 athletes reaching the grandmaster level and 5 ones reaching the national level I, and 3 athletes have been summoned to the youth team, the national cycling team. Dinh Van Linh has participated in the Vietnam terrain cycling team competing at 30th SEA Games. Looking back at the high-achievement sports of the previous years, in 2017 there were 90 athletes of the provincial sports participating in 19 regional and national sports tournaments, getting 35 medals, including 12 gold medals, 7 silver medals, 16 bronze medals. In 2018, 112 provincial athletes participated in 19 regional and national sports competitions, winning 63 medals, including 19 gold medals, 2 silver medals, 21 bronze medals.

Recently, the National Terrain Cycling Championship for the Youth and the National Terrain Cycling Championship in 2019 have been the playgrounds for the athletes and the students, creating the opportunity for them to shine up and show their talents. The sports team of our province excellently competed, winning 10 gold medals, 2 silver medals, 3 bronze medals in the competing contents. In the XI National Ethnic Minority Sports Contest of Region I in 2019 held in Bac Kan province, our province won the first prize for the whole delegation with 17 medals, including 6 gold medals, 7 silver medals, 4 bronze medals. In the 14th Festival for Culture, Sports and Tourism of the Northwestern ethnic region in 2019 held in Son La, our province won 20 medals, including 5 gold medals, 5 silver medals, 10 bronze medals, and was one of the group had excellent achievements at the festival.

Through the tournaments, there have been many young faces representing the province's potential adjacent athletes such as Dinh Van Linh, Bui Van Hieu, Bui Viet Cuong, Tran Thi Thuy Van (terrain cycling), Nguyen Tien Manh (winning the gold medal for throwing javelin, the silver medal for weightlifting content of National Youth Athletics Championship in 2019), Bui Thu Huyen (the gold medal for the national youth boxing championship in 2019) ...

With the proper attention and investment of the province, the training, the well-trained coaching and the efforts and the determination of the staff, the coaches, the athletes, the gifted students ..., Hoa Binh sports will strongly develop, affirming the higher and higher position in the big arenas.
