(HBO) - On 4/11, the opening ceremony of the 10th National Ethnic Sport Competition of Area I, 2017 was being organized at at Hoa Binh provincial stadium. It was attended by many provincial officials: Mr. Bui Van Tinh, Party Central Committee member and Secretary of the provincial Party Committee; Mr. Tran Dang Ninh, Vice Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the provincial People’s Council; Mr. Nguyen Van Quang, Vice Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee; Mr. Nguyen Van Chuong, Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee – the Chief local Organizer and many local people in the district and province.

 At the opening ceremony, there were some parades to glorify the forces such as Processions of National Flag, Sport Flag, palanquins of Uncle Ho’s Portrait and the Competition’s Slogan, Red Flags and provincial teams of athletes, referees and Muong Gong Artists. The traditional fire being processed by typical provincial athletes with high achievement from Uncle Ho Monument in Hoa Binh Hydroelectric Construction was lighted up by Mr. Bui Van Tinh, the Secretary of the provincial Party Committee on the Competition firebox.

Mr. Pham Van Tuan, Vice Director of General Sports and Physical Training Department - The chief central organizer made a speech to start the Competition and emphasized that the Sport Competition for ethnics in Northern Area was first held in Hoa Binh in 1996, after 10 times of organization, this competition has become a traditional event to improve and develop the sport and physical training movements of ethnics in quantity and quality.

Mr. Nguyen Van Chuong, Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee – the Chief local Organizer stated clearly that: The 10th National Ethnic Sport Competition of Area I includes more than 700 athletes of 16 provincial teams from Lao Cai, Lai Chau, Dien Bien, Phu Tho, Lang Son, Nghe An, Thanh Hoa, Bac Kan, Bac Giang, Yen Bai, Cao Bang, Thai Nguyen, Ha Giang, Vinh Phuc, Hoa Binh and Ha Noi, joining in 8 subjects of football, volleyball, marathon, crossbow shooting, Tu Lu - Mong traditional sport, tug of war, rod pushing, Con throwing. The national ethnic sport competition is an interesting and meaningful event for ethnic athletes and is held every two years. With this competition, the athletes have chances to practice and compete, exchange and share their experience, improve their awareness of sports and physical training. In addition, it can promote the sport and physical training movements among ethnic minorities, which can strengthen the unity of ethnics people.

Especially, the highlight of the ceremony is the co-performance of 500 Muong gong artists representing for thousands of provincial artists. The performance with the topic "Hoa Binh, together with ethnic minorities, towards the future” includes 3 chapters: Welcome to Hoa Binh, Spirit of Martial Arts - Fitness for building the country; and Hoa Binh Blossoms.

The International Yoga Day in Hoa Binh province

In the morning of June 30th, at Hoa Binh Square, the Provincial People's Committee coordinated with the Indian Embassy in Hanoi to organize the International Yoga Day in Hoa Binh province in 2024. There was the attendance of Mr. Bui Duc Hinh, the Deputy Secretary of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and the Chairman of the Provincial People's Council and the leaders of a number of the appropriate departments, branches, unions... On the side of the Indian Embassy, there was Mr. S. Chinpau Ngaihte, the First Secretary (the Department of Economics, Trade & Development). There was the participation of 500 trainers and the members from 18 Yoga clubs in districts and the city in the province.

“Vovinam''s Impact of Hoa Binh Province”

Recently, the martial artists from our province left a lasting impression at the 2024 Northern Vovinam Championship organized by the Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism of Nam Dinh Province in collaboration with the Sports Department (Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism) and the Vietnam Vovinam Federation. This championship has attracted the participation of over 300 athletes and coaches from 13 delegations representing various provinces and cities in the Northern region. The participants competed in 73 categories, including martial arts performances and sparring.
