(HBO) - Recently, at the 27th national Championship for the youth terrain & off-road cycling in 2022, Hoa Binh delegation won 1 gold medal, 4 silver medals and 2 bronze medals. To achieve these proud results is thanks to the attention and investment in the right direction of the province; cycling has a young, talented and promising generation; the methodical and training are effective; there are the determination, the efforts and the constant striving of the team of athletes and coaches.

The provincial cycling racers are on the podium receiving the gold medals at the 27th national Championship for the youth terrain & off-road cycling in 2022.

There were 7 athletes and 3 coaches, who are the students and the teachers from the provincial Gifted School for Training and Sports Competition, attended the tournament. They competed in the content of terrain cycling. The team of athletes included: Dinh Thi Giang Huong, Ha Van Nam, Ha Cong Ngan, Ha Viet Cuong (Tan Lac), Xa Tuan Anh, Xa Thi Uyen (Da Bac), Quach Thi Thu Trang (Lac Son). The athletes are all between the ages of 17 and 18, the youngest athlete is Xa Thi Uyen (15 years old). Although she is still young in both age and does not have much experience in competition, the achievements they won are not only the joy and success of the athletes and the coaches in particular, but they are also the pride of the provincial sports fans. They won one gold medal in the women's Olympic cross-country team at the age of 17-18; 4 silver medals in the following categories: men's individual downhill, women's individual downhill, women's cross-country relay at the age of 17-18, men's r cross-country elay at the age of 17-18; 2 bronze medals in the following contents: women's Olympic cross-country at the age of 17-18, men's Olympic cross-country at the age of 17-18, and 100% of the provincial athletes competing at the tournament won the medals.

Notably, in this year's tournament, the terrain cycling content has a new competition, which is individual downhill for men and women under the age of 18. Two young cyclists from the province, Ha Cong Ngan and Quach Thi Thu Trang, both won silver in these new events.

The coach, Mr. Tran Dai Nghia, from the Provincial Gifted School for Training and Sports Competition said: "The provincial terrain cycling team participating in the tournament was assigned the target of 1 silver and 2 bronze medals. With the achievements the whole team won, we completed and exceeded the set target. This is a worthy achievement for the perseverance, the hard work, and trying to overcome all difficulties and challenges”.

Maybe, the provincial sports fans are not familiar to these names such as: Dinh Thi Giang Huong, Ha Viet Cuong... Most of the athletes have tried their hand at some major tournaments. In which, it is impossible not to mention Dinh Thi Giang Huong - a petite girl born in 2005. Previously, the 26th National Championship for the Championship for the youth terrain & off-road cycling in 2020 was the first national tournament in which Huong took part. Dinh Thi Giang Huong, along with young cyclists Tran Thi Thuy Van and Quach Thi Phuong Thanh, won the team gold and silver medals. And Ha Viet Cuong is a cyclist who has been called to the national youth cycling team. For Xa Thi Uyen, this was the first major tournament that she was given the opportunity to assert her talent. As the youngest athlete in the group and it was also the first time she swam in the big sea, Uyen did not disappoint the expectations of the coach and the fans when she won a precious medal for the provincial sports delegation.

Currently, the province owns many talented and stable cycling racers, who have continuously been achieving many outstanding achievements such as Dinh Van Linh, Bui Van Nhat, Bui Van Hieu, Tran Thi Thuy Van, Quach Thi Phuong Thanh … and the next generation is full of passion, enthusiasm, and prospects, and they are always ready to devote themselves to the development of Hoa Binh high-performance sports. In order to have the adjacent generation succeeding from the experienced seniors, one of the many important factors is that the detection and selection of young talents is carried out carefully, and the coaching and training work is done methodically, professionally, scientifically and effectively.

In the coming time, the province's high-achieving sports may face many difficulties. However, with the attention, investment, and creating all favorable conditions of the province, the locality and the appropriate authorities and the determination and efforts of the athletes, the sports workers, and the valuable medals they have just won are a solid foundation for fans to expect and put their full faith in the next generation to shine and break through and bring glory to the homeland and the country.
