In recent years, the images of amateur athletes jogging on many roads of Hoa Binh city, immersing themselves in the beautiful and peaceful natural scenery of their homeland every morning or afternoon have become familiar to the local people. Those are the members of HBR. Belonging to Vietnam Youth Union of Hoa Binh province, HBR was officially established in March 2021 in the spirit of voluntary participation of the members who share a passion for running, free activities, and non-profitable for the purpose of health training, bringing the sport of running to the community of all ages. "RUN FOR YOUR LIFE” - Run for your life - the slogan conveys the message of a healthy and positive lifestyle and it is also something that HBR wants to widely spread.
When first established, HBR operated internally with only 25 members. To date, HBR has more than 80 official members and more than 1,000 members in the Hoa Binh Runners’ Facebook community. Most of the members are amateur runners. During the practice sessions, the experienced members guide and support the new members. Regardless of age, gender, or occupation, jogging has become an indispensable activity in their lives. All are enthusiastic about practicing every day.
In addition, HBR organizes a number of periodic activities to exchange, to run long distances, to accompany and conquer difficult distances, and explore many new and interesting running routes. Wearing the green and yellow uniforms with the HBR name prominently printed, running tirelessly on the roads, the members spread the spirit of physical training and sports in the community. Not only that, the members also actively compete in a number of large-scale tournaments inside and outside the province and win achievements. Thereby, it has been contributing to promoting the image, homeland, people, and tourism potential of Hoa Binh. During its operations, HBR always strictly complies with the provisions of law and organizes and operates in accordance with the general regulations.
On November 11, at Hoa Binh Square, Hoa Binh Newspaper coordinated with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Department of Education and Training, and the Provincial Youth Communist Union to organize the 31st Traditional Marathon Tournament of Hoa Binh Newspaper Cup in 2023. This is a traditional sports tournament that has affirmed its reputation, quality, and appeal through 30 successfully organized seasons. Previously, the 30th Traditional Marathon Tournament of Hoa Binh Newspaper Cup in 2022, three members of HBR, Dinh Thanh Hue, Ban Thanh Tuyen, and Nguyen Viet Cuong won gold, silver, and bronze medals in the men's event. At this year's tournament, HBR continues to compete as a club under the Provincial Youth Communist Union.
