In the morning of June 30th, at Hoa Binh Square, the Provincial People's Committee coordinated with the Indian Embassy in Hanoi to organize the International Yoga Day in Hoa Binh province in 2024. There was the attendance of Mr. Bui Duc Hinh, the Deputy Secretary of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and the Chairman of the Provincial People's Council and the leaders of a number of the appropriate departments, branches, unions... On the side of the Indian Embassy, there was Mr. S. Chinpau Ngaihte, the First Secretary (the Department of Economics, Trade & Development). There was the participation of 500 trainers and the members from 18 Yoga clubs in districts and the city in the province.

The fitness and sports movement in Hoa Binh province is increasingly growing with diversifying content and forms attracting the participation if all classes of people. Along with preserving and developing the traditional and strong sports in the province, many new and modern sports are widely participated in, especially Yoga. 

In 2014, the United Nations General Assembly declared that June 21 is the International Yoga Day. Since then, the International Yoga Day celebrations have been held in many countries, including Vietnam every year. This is the first time the International Yoga Day has been held in Hoa Binh province with the theme "Yoga for yourself and society”.

Making a speech at the program, the representative of the Indian Embassy highly appreciated the organization of the International Yoga Day in Hoa Binh province in 2024. This year, the Indian Embassy in Hanoi organized the International Yoga Day at 35 provinces and cities.

At the program, Ms. Quach Thi Kieu, the Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Head of the Organizing Committee of the International Yoga Day in Hoa Binh province in 2024 affirmed: The program is an activity of great significance, not just an occasion to respond to and promote the campaign "All people do exercises following the great example of Uncle Ho”, propagating and raising the awareness about the meaning and effects of Yoga on health, physical strength, spirit and preventing and fighting diseases for the people but it is also an opportunity to tighten the diplomatic relations between Vietnam and India. At the same time, it has promoted the image, the culture, the country and people of Hoa Binh in particular, Vietnam in general to international friends; creating a deep cultural and human connection between the two countries.

The program's highlight is the popular Yoga Protocol performance with the participation of 500 trainers and the members of Yoga clubs and the people who love Yoga in the province. The performance was led by Yoga instructor - Mr. Sikander Bhardwaj. The popular 40-minute Yoga Protocol demonstrates the Yoga path to a healthy life, which is free from stress, disease, and mental illness.
