(HBO) - On December 10th, the Organizing Committee of the Week of Culture and Tourism in Hoa Binh held a Workshop on Developing Tourism Products of Hoa Binh Province in 2019. Mr. Nguyen Van Chuong, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, the Head of the Organizing Committee attended and chaired the meeting.
There were the leaders from Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, the Research Institute of Tourism Development, Hanoi Tourism Department, the provincial departments, and other appropriate authorities, the representatives of the districts and the city, the representatives of the domestic and foreign business agencies attending the workshop.

Our province has a lot of potential for tourism development. Currently, there are 296 historical and cultural sites in our province. They include more than 70 caves containing archaeological relics of "Hoa Binh Culture”, 41 national relics and 53 provincial relics. Additionally, the national tourism area of Hoa Binh lake is an important highlight of the province's tourism. Hoa Binh lake has an area of 8,000 hectares of water surface and a capacity of nearly 9.5 billion cubic meters of water. There are 47 large and small islands creating the charming scenery.
In recent years, Hoa Binh province has many guidelines and policies such as mobilizing capital sources for investment in infrastructure to develop tourism. The routes and tourist sites, especially the national tourism resort ò Hoa Binh lake and Mai Chau national tourist spot have been effectively exploited. The links to form tours, routes, tourist destinations have been strengthened. Building and promoting tourism brands and tourism products have been also focused on. Hoa Binh province is now continuing to implement the Master Plan for Tourism Development to 2020, with a vision to 2030, the Master plan for developing the tourism area of Hoa Binh till 2030 ...
At the workshop, the delegates presented a lot of speeches to analyze and evaluate the real development of tourism products of the province in recent years. The strengths and limitations of Hoa Binh tourism have been indicated. On that basis, the delegates agreed to propose the solutions for the tourism development such as increasing investment and improving the quality of accommodation, and strengthening the links and cooperation for the tourism development. The values of national culture have been preserved and promoted to sustainably develop the type of community tourism. The brand names for the tourism products have also been actively promoted and set up.
Mr. Nguyen Van Chuong, the Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Committee has emphasized: In recent years, the province's tourism has developed well and has positively contributed to the overall growth of the province. However, Hoa Binh tourism is still developing slowly, which is not commensurate with its potential. In particular, the tourism products are not diverse, plentiful and unattractive.
The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee has acknowledged and highly appreciated the solutions presented by the delegates to promote the tourism development of Hoa Binh province. The solution is strategic and suitable for each tourism destination. That is the basis for the provincial People's Committee to formulate and promulgate the preferential mechanisms and policies in order to attract investment, mobilizing resources for tourism development and trying to make tourism be a key economic sector of the province.

This region, renowned for its remarkable terraced landscapes, is also the centre of Hoa Binh Culture known for numerous archaeological sites.
The life of Mong people in Hang Kia and Pa Co communes of Mai Chau district has improved much thanks to tourism development.
The man-made Hoa Binh Lake, with a water surface area of approximately 9,000 hectares and a capacity of 9.45 billion cubic meters, stretches over 200 kilometers from Hoa Binh to Son La provinces. With the goal of developing into a national tourism area, the Hoa Binh Lake tourism area is expected to not only become the largest tourism centre in the province but also one of the 12 key tourist destinations in the northern midland and mountainous region of Vietnam.
Da Bia hamlet, now Duc Phong, in Tien Phong commune, Da Bac district, was once almost isolated from the outside as the only way to the hamlet was to get a boat ride across the Hoa Binh reservoir. However, as its tourism potential has been unleashed, the hamlet has established itself as one of the most attractive destinations on the tourism map. It has even received the ASEAN Community-Based Tourism Awards in 2019.
In the first 9 months of 2024, Mai Chau district, Hoa Binh province welcomed over 684 thousand visitors to visit and relax. In which, over 516 thousand domestic visitors and more than 168 thousand international visitors. Total revenue from tourism is estimated at over 821 billion VND.
Da Bac district, bestowed with stunning landscapes, is developing ecological and resort tourism offerings. Several tourist sites, put into operation this year, has attracted throngs of high-spending and young domestic visitors.
