(HBO) - "Making Mai Chau district become a national tourism destination by 2020, with a vision to 2030” is the instruction of the Executive Board of the Provincial Party in Resolution No. 06-NQ/TU, dated August 30, 2016 (Resolution 06). Accordingly, the whole political system has entered in a synchronized, drastic and effective manner, creating a strong breakthrough for the development of tourism in Mai Chau district in the past 3 years.
Lac village, Chieng Chau commune is one of 7 community tourism destinations in Mai Chau district attracting tourists to visit and experience.
Based on Resolution 06, the People's Committee of the province has issued the Decision approving the "The Plan for the National Tourism Development in Mai Chau, Hoa Binh Province until 2030”; The decision approving "The project to make Mai Chau district become the National tourism destination by 2020 with a vision to 2030”; The implementation plan for " The Plan for the National Tourism Development in Mai Chau”. Along with that, the relevant departments, agencies and units have formulated the programs and plans to coordinate with Mai Chau district in the process of implementing Resolution 06.
In Mai Chau district, Resolution 06 has created a high consensus and extensive propaganda to the entire people. Turning the political determination into the specific actions, the Party committees and appropriate authorities have entered in a synchronized, drastic and effective manner, well performing the leadership, direction, and closely supervising the tourism activities. Thereby, it has been creating a positive resonance from the people, creating great spillover to bring Resolution 06 into life.

It is a journey of "the will of the Party, the will of people”, a journey with both solidarity and will to overcome ourselves to build good and sustainable values. With important policies on tourism development, the district has created a breakthrough, turning tourism into a key economic industry and facing many new opportunities to reach the development of Mai Chau tourism brand.
Over 3 years of implementing Resolution 06, a lot of solutions have been implemented synchronously and effectively. The state management of business of tourism service has been strengthened. The tourism infrastructure has been invested. The service quality at the establishments of tourism business has been gradually improved. Mai Chau district has always focused on training and improving the quality of the resources of tourism human associated with strengthening the conservation, preservation and promotion of the cultural identity. So far, there have been 148 tourism accommodation establishments, 7 community tourism destinations, 11 investment projects on tourism and trade which have been deployed smoothly with a total registered capital of over 178 billion dongs. In 2019, the district welcomed about 375,000 turns of visitors, the total revenue from tourism reached about 232 billion dongs.
Spanning thousands of hectares and winding gracefully along mountain slopes, hillsides, and riverbanks, the terraced rice fields of Lac Son District present a stunning and captivating beauty. This region, renowned for its remarkable terraced landscapes, is also the centre of Hoa Binh Culture known for numerous archaeological sites.
The life of Mong people in Hang Kia and Pa Co communes of Mai Chau district has improved much thanks to tourism development.
The man-made Hoa Binh Lake, with a water surface area of approximately 9,000 hectares and a capacity of 9.45 billion cubic meters, stretches over 200 kilometers from Hoa Binh to Son La provinces. With the goal of developing into a national tourism area, the Hoa Binh Lake tourism area is expected to not only become the largest tourism centre in the province but also one of the 12 key tourist destinations in the northern midland and mountainous region of Vietnam.
Da Bia hamlet, now Duc Phong, in Tien Phong commune, Da Bac district, was once almost isolated from the outside as the only way to the hamlet was to get a boat ride across the Hoa Binh reservoir. However, as its tourism potential has been unleashed, the hamlet has established itself as one of the most attractive destinations on the tourism map. In the first 9 months of 2024, Mai Chau district, Hoa Binh province welcomed over 684 thousand visitors to visit and relax. In which, over 516 thousand domestic visitors and more than 168 thousand international visitors. Total revenue from tourism is estimated at over 821 billion VND.
Da Bac district, bestowed with stunning landscapes, is developing ecological and resort tourism offerings. Several tourist sites, put into operation this year, has attracted throngs of high-spending and young domestic visitors.
