(HBO) - On July 8, the Provincial Steering Committee of tourism held a conference to review the tourism development for the first 6 months and to deploy the tasks for the last 6 months of 2020.

In the first 6 months, the tourism development in the province continues to be paid attention to. In early March 2020, the Provincial Steering Committee of tourism issued Plan No. 50/KH-BCD on tourism development in Hoa Binh province in 2020. However, due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, most of the tasks have not been implemented as planned. In the first 6 months, the province welcomed about 1.2 million turns of tourists, reaching 65% compared to that of the same period last year and reached 36.4% of the year’s plan. The total revenue from tourism is about 750 billion VND, reaching 73.7% compared to that of the same period last year and reaching 30% of the year’s plan.

There have been central solutions for the last months of the year to revive the tourism after Covid-19 pandemic. In particular, it is necessary to mobilize resources to focus on investment for tourism development. It is also important to strengthen direction at all levels and sectors to create favorable conditions for the capable investors to carry out tourism business projects and build tourism facilities. The tourism promotion and strategy with the focus have been implemented. They have also agreed to propose the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to coordinate with other central ministries and agencies in advising the Prime Minister to prioritize the investment funding for construction of the infrastructure of the national tourism development for the National Tourism Area of Hoa Binh lake and Mai Chau national tourism attractions. At the same time, they have supported and guided the province in the effective implementation of the planning for developing the national tourism sites and destinations.

Making the speech at the conference, Mr. Bui Van Cuu, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, the Head of the provincial Steering Committee of tourism thought that the process of tourism development in recent years is vibrant, but it is not sustainable. The tourism development planning is still slow, the progress of implementing tourism projects after planning has not achieved the desired results. The tourism products are not diverse, the services are not professional. The state management of tourism is still limited and inadequate...

The members of the Provincial Steering Committee of tourism should clearly see these limitations to raise the awareness and responsibility of individuals and to attach the responsibility of the agencies, the appropriate authorities and the locality, joining hands to develop the tourism. Based on the Plan No.50 of the Provincial Steering Committee of tourism, each department, branch and locality should formulate a specific plan for the sector and locality to achieve its objectives of tourism development in 2020 and the following years.
