(HBO) - As part of a provincial programme to support community tourism destinations in the area around Hoa Binh Lake, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism has just completed the construction of and handed over a road and the yard of the local community house in Ngoi hamlet, Suoi Hoa commune (Tan Lac) with a total cost of over 1 billion VND. In addition, musical instruments, sound equipment and national costumes were presented to the commune's artistic team.
A 160m long road and the community house's yard of Ngoi hamlet, Suoi Hoa
commune (Tan Lac) have just been built to serve the needs of people and
tourists.
Bui Van Hien, a local engaged in community tourism,said the new road and
yard have given a facelift for the village, facilitating travelling and
sightseeing.
In addition to support from the province,households engaged in community
tourism in Hoa Binh Lake tourist area receiving attention and help from donors
to upgrade and renovate facilities. An example is a community tourism project
in Da Bac district, which got financial and technical help from AOP, an
Australian NGO. Specifically, participating households were provided with
interest-free loans to renovate their houses and buying necessary equipment.
Local authority also opened training classes for locals who want to know more
about hospitality business model.
Bui Thi Niem, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism said
from 2017 to now, tourism infrastructure and facilities in the Hoa Binh Lake
tourist area have received considerable investment. Every year, investment
priority is also given to local amateur artists of traditional arts at tourist
sites to serve tourists.
Hoa Binh also invests in providing free wifi coverage for the area to meet the
information and communication needs of tourism business units and tourists. At
this point, Hoa Binh Lake tourist area has about 300 tourist boats, 107
accommodation establishments, including 14 hotels, 32 motels and 61 community
motels, creating jobs for about 1,200 workers, including more than 720 direct
jobs and 500 indirect jobs./.

The life of Mong people in Hang Kia and Pa Co communes of Mai Chau district has improved much thanks to tourism development.
The man-made Hoa Binh Lake, with a water surface area of approximately 9,000 hectares and a capacity of 9.45 billion cubic meters, stretches over 200 kilometers from Hoa Binh to Son La provinces. With the goal of developing into a national tourism area, the Hoa Binh Lake tourism area is expected to not only become the largest tourism centre in the province but also one of the 12 key tourist destinations in the northern midland and mountainous region of Vietnam.
Da Bia hamlet, now Duc Phong, in Tien Phong commune, Da Bac district, was once almost isolated from the outside as the only way to the hamlet was to get a boat ride across the Hoa Binh reservoir. However, as its tourism potential has been unleashed, the hamlet has established itself as one of the most attractive destinations on the tourism map. It has even received the ASEAN Community-Based Tourism Awards in 2019.
In the first 9 months of 2024, Mai Chau district, Hoa Binh province welcomed over 684 thousand visitors to visit and relax. In which, over 516 thousand domestic visitors and more than 168 thousand international visitors. Total revenue from tourism is estimated at over 821 billion VND.
Da Bac district, bestowed with stunning landscapes, is developing ecological and resort tourism offerings. Several tourist sites, put into operation this year, has attracted throngs of high-spending and young domestic visitors.
