(HBO) – The Hoa Binh provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism held a conference on October 29 to stimulate travel demand in the new context. The event was attended by Standing Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Van Toan, who is also head of the province’s tourism steering committee; Deputy General Director of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism Pham Van Thuy; leaders of the Vietnam Tourism Association; and representatives of travel companies and tourism service providers in Hoa Binh.

The COVID-19 pandemic has substantially affected
the socio-economic situation of Vietnam over the last two years. On October 18,
the People’s Committee of Hoa Binh announced that the province is at Pandemic
Level No. 1, which means low risk. This is a favourable condition for the
province to recover socio-economic activities, especially tourism.
Themed "Visit Hoa Binh - safe, friendly and
attractive destination”, the conference aimed to advertise the province as a
destination with quality tourism products able to meet travel demand of
Vietnamese people and foreigners living in the country, helping to gradually
reopen to international visitors.
At the event, travel stimulus packages were
announced by local businesses, including the Dinh Nhuan Trading JSC, Da Bac
Community-based Tourism JSC, Hoa Binh Tourism JSC, Mai Chau Hideway Resort,
Heritage Park of Vietnamese Scientists, Serena Resort Kim Boi, and V-Resort Kim
Boi.
Addressing the conference, Standing Vice Chairman
of the provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Van Toan and Deputy General
Director of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism Pham Van Thuy asked
local authorities to work with relevant ministries, sectors, and localities to
ensure pandemic safety and increase popularising Hoa Binh’s tourism among
domestic travellers, especially those in Hanoi.
They requested travel companies to realise their
commitment to reducing prices but keeping quality, boost the advertisement of
promotional programmes, improve people and businesses’ awareness of the
pandemic prevention and control, ensure safety for tourists and workers, pay
attention to food safety, and carry out environmental protection measures.
On this occasion, the Hanoi UNESCO Travel Club
presented gifts to the People’s Committee and the Department of Culture, Sports
and Tourism of Hoa Binh province./.

The man-made Hoa Binh Lake, with a water surface area of approximately 9,000 hectares and a capacity of 9.45 billion cubic meters, stretches over 200 kilometers from Hoa Binh to Son La provinces. With the goal of developing into a national tourism area, the Hoa Binh Lake tourism area is expected to not only become the largest tourism centre in the province but also one of the 12 key tourist destinations in the northern midland and mountainous region of Vietnam.
Da Bia hamlet, now Duc Phong, in Tien Phong commune, Da Bac district, was once almost isolated from the outside as the only way to the hamlet was to get a boat ride across the Hoa Binh reservoir. However, as its tourism potential has been unleashed, the hamlet has established itself as one of the most attractive destinations on the tourism map. It has even received the ASEAN Community-Based Tourism Awards in 2019.
In the first 9 months of 2024, Mai Chau district, Hoa Binh province welcomed over 684 thousand visitors to visit and relax. In which, over 516 thousand domestic visitors and more than 168 thousand international visitors. Total revenue from tourism is estimated at over 821 billion VND.
Da Bac district, bestowed with stunning landscapes, is developing ecological and resort tourism offerings. Several tourist sites, put into operation this year, has attracted throngs of high-spending and young domestic visitors.
