(HBO) - Cao Phong district is known for many attractive ecological and spiritual tourism attractions. Each temple and pagoda contain its own myths and legends that attract customers from all over the country. Talking about the future tourism potential of Cao Phong district, it is impossible to mention that the legend of Vo Vua in Thach Yen commune, which is associated with a wonderful landscape picture and fresh air here.

The officials of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism coordinated with Cao Phong Devision of Culture, Information and tourism and the enterprises in Hanoi to survey Vo Vua hill in Thach Yen commune in July 2021.

1.Coming to Thach Yen, along with enjoying the traditional dishes of Muong ethnic people, we will hear the elderly here telling about the heroic revolutionary traditions of Thach Yen - Cao Phong Revolutionary War Zone, the mysterious stories about Khanh pagoda, especially the story about the formation of Vo Vua or Gieng Vua on top of Thai Bai hill, Khanh hamlet. According to legend, once upon a time, there was a mother and daughter of Thanh Tan Vien, whose name was "Me Da Hoang Pa” (i.e the second wife of ThanhTan Vien). They were appointed by Thanh Tan Vien to pretend to be the poor people traveling around with the purpose to survey the people, test the hearts of the people in each region and help the poor. After leaving Thien Quan Lac Tho, she took the daughter away and away to Muong Dai (now it is Thach Yen commune in Cao Phong district).

When they were worshiping Ten Festival in July, because they were poor, Ten Festival there ưere only the watered rice, Ui cakes, papaya vegetables, Te Teng vegetables, potatoes, eggplants... Au Loc finished the offering and saw the mother and the daughter being hungry, he lovingly took all the rice in the stewed pot all the mixed vegetables for them to eat. When she and her child were full, showing gratitude, she told Au Loc about her life, and she further instructed: To show the gratitude to Muong Dai people for being kind to them, later looking down from heaven and letting the rain and wind be favorable and bless the people in Muong Dai. She said that when fencing the garden, it was important to fence with poplar, bamboo, etc., it had to be fenced upside down and upside down (one canvas inside turned in, the next one inside turned out did like that in turn until the fence was finished). She further advised, Tung Trung Ten (the infection treatment) of Muong Dai people, the worshipping was different from that of Thien Quan Lac Kho. The worshiping ceremony only needs: The watered rice (the plain rice), the legs and the tails of buffalo, pig, chicken, dogs or ducks, Ui cakes, papaya vegetables, Te Teng vegetables, potatoes, eggplants... are curable. After advising Au Loc, the mother and the child greeted the owner and continued to go to the foothills of Thai Bai (now it is Vo Vua). When they got there, the child was thirsty. She thought in the middle of this sacred forest, where she could get water for the child, looking and looking for the water, and she could not find a source of water. She took out her sword and stuck it in the ground and said, "If I am still worthy to be the Daughter of Heaven, give me a way to live”. After that, she drew her sword and a pillar of water rose from the ground. The Crown Prince drank the water and took a rest for a while. After that, he peed about 50m from the water area, when he stepped over a stone the Prince's footprints were still imprinted on it. So far, no plants can grow on this land. They plannes to set up at the top of Thai Bai hill. However, when looking out, they still saw Nui Tan, so she changed her mind and continued to go to Dam Da, Lac Thuy and decided to set up there.

From then on, the people in Muong Dai named Vo Vuong (Vua well), the land around it was Vo Vua hill. To commemorate the mother and her child, the people in Dai hamlet make offerings (sticky rice, chicken) and slap a well on the 28th day of the 12th lunar month annually. Every year, in the early spring, the people there come to get new and cool water for their families, hoping for a year-round life of peace, happiness, luck, coolness....

Ms. Bui Yen Minh, the officer of the Division of Culture and Sports of Cao Phong district, said: Located in the primeval forest of Khanh hamlet, Vo Vua is a well about 1,000m above sea level with cool water in the summer and warm one in winter. The water spot and the black soil left here are associated with the lyrics, music, gongs of the harvest festival in the land of Muong Thang along with the mysterious stories that anyone who has heard once wants to come to discover. Around Vo Vua is a forest of about 1,000m2 with the unspoiled, green natural landscape, the lawns, the flowers, and the myrtle flowers spreading along the hills. Standing on the top of Vo Vua hill, visitors can enjoy the cool atmosphere and admire the beautiful scenery of the surrounding areas. It can be affirmed that this will be a potential place attracting tourists in the future and it needs to be exploited, invested and developed. Seeing the beautiful scenery as well as the value of Vo Vua hill, in 2021, many businesses reviewed for investment. Hopefully, in the coming time, there will be suitable investors so that the potential of the scenery, the nature and the value of this land can be effectively exploited and promoted.
