(HBO) - Hoa Binh province’s Tourism Steering Committee held a conference on July 27 to review tourism activities in the first six months of this year and put forward tasks for the last months, under the chair of Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Committee Nguyen Van Toan, who is also head of the Steering Committee.

In the first half of this year, Hoa Binh tourism continued to make an impressive recovery. The sector concertedly carried out tasks and solutions to develop new and attractive destinations, tours and products; and organised a variety of activities to attract the attention of tourists inside and outside the country, thus creating a premise for tourism to recover and maintain its activities in the last months of 2023 and the following years. In the period, the province served a total of 2.36 million visitors, up 28.8% over the same period, equal to 67.4% of the yearly plan. Total revenue from tourism services was about 2.3 trillion VND, up 16.2% year-on-year and fulfilling 59% of the yearly plan.

At the event, delegates discussed, contributed ideas, and raised some difficulties and obstacles in tourism development.

Vice Chairman Toan requested sectors and localities to focus on supporting investors and accommodation establishments, especially in transport infrastructure, and telecommunications; starting work on several tourism projects and speeding up construction on ongoing ones; strengthening management over national and provincial relic sites.

He also asked districts and Hoa Binh city to pay attention to directing communes to supervise and ensure the progress and quality of work for tourism development within the framework of the three National Target Programmes; improving the quality of human resources for this industry; and stepping up investment and tourism promotion activities./.
