A street carnival with the theme "The Quintessence of Hanoi - Confluence and Shine” was held around Hoan Kiem Lake in the centre of Hanoi on July 29, attracting thousands of people. The event was organised by the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports in coordination with the Centre for Preservation and Development of Vietnamese Stage Arts.

The event features the participation of 5,000 people, including professional actors, folk artists and the people of Hanoi.

The attendees paraded around Hoan Kiem Lake, Ly Thai To Square, Ba Kieu Temple, Dong Kinh Nghia Thuc Square, in front of Luc Thuy restaurant, Ba Trieu - Hang Khay intersection, and the Hang Bai - Trang Tien intersection.

The parade groups comprised of 800 artisans and folk performance artists from the city with interesting performances of traditional dances and costumes.
